I am in receipt of your letter expressing condolences for the loss of my wife, the late Dowager Queen Katherine and thank you for your words of comfort. As to the main thrust of your communication, the request for the speedy return to Bradgate of your daughter Jane, now that I am "a man alone" as you put it, the current situation is in want of clarification.
