I have enjoyed an idyllic few days here at Old Manor, almost like the times we enjoyed when the Dowager Queen, the Lady Elizabeth and myself lived here. Days spent enjoying the warm weather, sitting out in the garden to study and going to my bedchamber to pray. Now, almost before I"ve got used to it, it is coming to an end seemingly.
A messenger has arrived here from the council, that person being Mary Sidney, daughter of the Duke of Northumberland and hence, my sister in law. I greet her cordially, for I have nothing against Mary even if I have fallen out with most of the rest of her family.
