I do love Thomas very much and it has been such a long, wearying time that we had to wait for our betrothal and marriage but the man can be so very irritating and annoying that I do oft-times wish to slap his face. He complains bitterly about his Brother Edward"s position as Lord Protector and his influence over the king and yet Thomas himself has been well recognised and rewarded since his sister, good Queen Jane, married Henry. He is now a baronet, he also holds the title of Lord Admiral and he has a seat on the privy –council. None of it is enough for Thomas it seems and he thinks he should have more influence over the king and affairs of state. Ambition has been the ruin of many a good man"s life in recent years and I would hate to see it get the better of Thomas.
