Howl

Howl~ Lamochatee Philippeon Lamochatee made his nightly run down the coastline, his senses attuned to every shape and shadow in the territory he knew so well. He ran until he was certain not one Laradian lurked in the sea, the marshes, or the pine forests. Not this night. With the coast secured, and not yet tired, Lamochatee ran inland. The hours he had left after patrolling his territory were his to spend as he wished. He ran faster and farther than he’d ventured on the nights before, deeper into the untamed wilds of Philippeon, stretching the limits of the tether that held his spirit to his body. He searched for those lost in the Mocama raid. The debt he owed them weighed on his heart. Rain pattered the leaves as he ran beneath a canopy of oaks and sweetgums. A storm was blowing in.
