CHAPTER 5

1308 Words
Casper left the place totally angry because the answers she gave him was quiet unbelievable. He has never hallucinated before so he didn't go back in his words of seeing the umbrella man. Aveline was hurt more than enough because it was the first time, she and Casper left each other in a bad term. What if he doesn't come back to her or ignore her on this topic? She was not allowed to say anything about Jacob to him because are the matters which happen out of the human concern. She once told about Jacob to one of her friends a long ago and that was when she last met her. Jacob had warned her about it and she would never break it even if it mesns ending her friendship with Casper. Aveline went to her room and quietly changed her dress to something more comfortable because all she had to do today for the day is drawing something. She envied others of her age, earth age in her case because she looks around the middle of twenties. Aveline always wondered what it would be like to go for a job and make money to live her life like normal humans. She looked like one of them but her life was exactly opposite of them. She took out her sketch book and sat down by the side of window because she loved to watch the leaves fall as autumn was nearing. It strangely made her feel better because she believes, like the leaves one day even she would end up dead. Just in her case, she didn't know which year it would happen. Her fingers moved faster than usual on the white paper as she made light strokes, not being confident to draw something serious. Her paintings were mostly about nature and buildings because those things made her feel, staying alive for so long is not a crime. Humans were never in her plan because one day they may appear and then disappear the other day. It was kind of making her sick as it continued for a long time. Time passed by and the sun went down faster than she imagined but she didn't notice it until the room became quiet dark. She kept the pencil down on the book and looked up at the park which was now lighted with beautiful moon light lanterns. She always had a pretty good impression on the natural beauty which was emphasized with different earth decorations. She got up from the seat and stretched herself well before closing the book without taking a glance at what she drew. She in fact didn't know what it was because it was just her hands moving while her mind was stuck somewhere else. Aveline, decided to take a walk in the park guessing it would ease her worries. She slipped onto a long leather jacket and took out a fur beanie before walking out. She didn't care about anything around her yet cared about every little changes. Ontario had so much to offer to her, so many things to lift her mood like partying and clubbing coming first in the list. She aimlessly walked down to the leaf paved way when someone pulled her jacket from behind. "Hey." Aveline smiled hearing the sweet voice call for her with a bright eye smile. She kneeled down to the level of the little girl who had pig tails tied high up making it look like small saplings on her brown hair. Aveline knew the girl from before as they have ran into each other, quiet a few times during the past times when they walked down the streets. "How are you?" Aveline asked as she pinched the cheeks of the little one. "I am sad because my school closes tomorrow." The girl whined as she folded her hands. "Hmm, isn't it actually good to have a vacation? You don't have to study and do home works but can play as long as you want." "I have no one to play with here. My friends are all going on tours but I can't go." Her whining went up and up as Aveline noticed. "How about hanging out with me if your mommy allows?" She asked as soon as she noticed a lady approaching the kid. "Ema, I have been searching for you since long." The lady said pulling the girl's hand tightly causing her to stomp her foot in anger. "Umm hey." Aveline greeted the lady who supposedly looked a little cold in the first meeting. "I am sorry if she bothered you." That was all the lady said before pulling the girl away with her totally ignoring what Aveline was going to say. She sighed and watched them disappear into the crowd making her feel stupid enough to think that she could befriend a kid. Obviously Jacob wouldn't let that happen, he had a past fight with Aveline and that was when he told her to not make friends. Casper was an exemption even for Jacob and she thought the reason for it but as usual, her questions were never answered. She took small steps to the inside while kicking the leaves to either side while her hands were dug into the jacket pocket. She was looking cute, really cute but there was no one to tell her that. . . . "What is wrong with you, Casper? Get yourself together and go to the room." Gilbert gritted his teeth in annoyance. "Can I get a day off?" "You had a day off and that is when you decided to run into trouble. Now we have a tight schedule so get up." At some point, Casper felt that he is the manager and Gilbert is the celebrity to whom he should listen to. The way Gilbert used to treat Casper was the same from the past twelve years making him still feel like a seventeen year old boy with no clue. Casper rolled on the couch before finally getting up and stretching himself. "One day, I will end all of this." Casper cussed before rushing to the green room to get dolled up for the interview. "This kid is going to give me hard time." Gilbert scoffed as he went to arrange the meeting because he called it off thinking Casper wouldn't listen. Meanwhile, Casper was still thinking about the umbrella man who appeared in front of his car all of a sudden and the way, Aveline did not believe him was making him more pissed. From the time of the car accident and the situation of the injured girl somehow forced him to believe, it was him who did it. Casper wanted to visit the hospital before the girl gets discharged to get answers to his questions. He didn't know how to make it there because the medias would always be having their eyes on him. He thought of sending Gilbert but then he remembered that the man is more popular than him among the medias. "Are you stressed?" The makeup artist asked as she tried to apply the cream on his face. "Hmm." He hummed because he knew the reason why she asked him that. "I have told you not to stress much when I am working, your skin would look loose." She complained as always but anyways continued her work knowing the boy wouldn't listen to her. "Can you do me a favour?" It was then the idea flashed in him. "Please, I am definitely not going to do those stupid prank videos with you and get fired." She already said as a warning. "Please Kate?" He asked with his innocent puppy eyes which no one can ever resist. "How am I even trapped in this mess." She smiled like a fool before agreeing to his plan before even hearing it.
