Casper was pacing back and forth while biting his nails through the mask as if he was about to pass out. The tension building up inside him was literally radiating to the people who were waiting for their dear ones, next to him. The guards sneaked into the hospital and halted at the corners of the room to not catch his attention in case of any emergency.
Gilbert had called them and instructed to walk in even though Casper asked them to not follow him. Gilbert had to literally give a spoiler about the upcoming album because the broken interview controversy that would pop up any how even if he tries to convince them. He was always against giving spoilers even when Casper insisted in doing that for his fans.
The meaningless strides came to a stop when his phone rang after a long wait and he could assume who it was. He smiled wide from ear to ear at the name which shined in the phone screen but he wanted to act a little tough knowing she was giving in. He knew, Aveline could never be mad at him for a long time but the past five hours felt like an eternity to him.
"Hello?" He spoke after he slowly attended the call to make it look like, he was not waiting for her.
"Meet me at dinner." Aveline said before ending the call.
"Hello? hello? hello?" Casper called out again and again until he heard the long beep indicating that she ended the call without even saying a bye.
He groaned as he stared at the phone screen which now turned black as if it was the phone's mistake and not hers. He was low key happy that she called him over, maybe she wants to tell him the truth about the accident. Along with the happy thought another worry crept in him thinking of what he has done.
"Will she be mad at me for doing this?" He asked looking around for a chance to run out.
He could have waited a little more, maybe the interview should have been done fully. She called him right in him so breaking the most important interview felt like a bad idea to him, all of a sudden. He was about to call Gilbert and ask about the situation in there but that was stopped too.
Before he could think of more stupid ideas, Kate walked out of the observation room and gestured him to move to the car. Casper nodded as he walked out of the hospital building with literally happiness filled in him. Firstly, Aveline called him on her own and secondly, no one recognized him in the hospital and thirdly...........
"Excuse me?"
Casper stopped on his step when a lean hand was put across him as if it was trying to stop him. He bit his lower lips as tension was dragging him down to hell thinking some one recognized him. How could he even think that no one would recognize him? The thing he is scared to face is not the rumors that would come against him but the angry eyes of Gilbert which would burn him alive.
"Are you perhaps?" The girl asked as she walked in front of him, blocking his way completely to even slip away and that made him wanna book a bed in the morgue.
He saw the girl wearing an oversized blue sweatshirt which literally had a big ass italics print saying 'CASPERIANS'. His fandom named was smiling wide at him and he had no chance to escape against the girl who was in front of him with hands crossed over chest. A big lump formed in his throat and he forced himself to swallow it.
"Casper, my eyes aren't there." the girl spoke noticing that his eyes were stuck on the print.
"Pierce?" He exclaimed as he recognized the light aired voice of his distant cousin who is also one of his friends.
"What are you doing in here?" She asked with a 'what the f**k is wrong with you' face.
"I had an appointment, a regular check up. I am fine as f**k, how about you?" He asked trying his best to not sound unconfident.
"It's been a long time." She hugged him all of a sudden and it felt kind of odd because Pierce was not in favour of skin ships even when it was initiated by him.
"Hmm, I have been busy." He answered hesitantly before pulling away as the people were starting to notice him.
"Get going, it is not safe out here without your guards." She nudged his shoulders before walking in.
Pierce had a devilish grin on her face as she walked past him to the elevator. She closed the elevator and took off the glass she was wearing before cracking her head. Averting her gaze from the floor number switches in the elevator to the glass window behind her, which showed a faint reflection of her, she chuckled.
"That was easy." The person spoke as Pierce slowly turned to a strange man of age in middle of twenties.
Casper left out a sigh of relief before running to his car and Kate was already waiting for him, in there. She was surfing through her phone as he jumped in along with the guards who were already standing outside, next to his car with door held wide open. He swiftly pushed himself into the car and locked the door as the driver started the engine without any delay, ready to drive off.
"So how did it go?" He asked enthusiastically.
"How did what go? You literally made me sit here for no reason." Kate groaned throwing her phone inside the sling bag that she had on her side.
"What? I made you sit here? Then why did I even come here, it was the hospital right?" He asked confused looking back at the hospital and then at Kate.
'How am I to know?" She gritted her teeth in annoyance making him more confused.
Suddenly the atmosphere felt strangely dense and a mist covering his vision and distant bird chirping being slightly audible. he felt as if he was in paradise for a moment with no idea what was happening around him. He looked out of the window when some one pulled his hands to catch his attention.
He couldn't remember why he went to the hospital and why Kate is behaving as if she had no idea. He tried asking the guards and even they were clueless. He looked at the phone screen as he remembered he was about to meet Aveline for dinner. He could see the subtle glares that Kate was shooting at him but responding to it would cause him more trouble.
"You really cancelled such a big interview to come here for no reason? What's wrong with you?" Kate asked him.
"I am sure, I send you in for something." Casper groaned as he tried his best to remember what happened inside.
"I didn't go anywhere. Now let's hurry for the dinner party or else Gilbert would kill both of us." She reminded him before instructing the guards to turn the car to the venue.
"No, I have another appointment." Casper got in between as he believed meeting Aveline is more important.
"Casper, you are not going to cancel another meeting. This is with the producers of your upcoming album and tonight we need to fix the date of release and make the final edits."
"How do you know so much about my schedule when you are just my makeup artist?" He asked as he arched his eyebrows at her.
"Gilbert asked me to send you there no matter how much you resist and I guess it would be better if you obey him for once."
"Kate Tomlinson. I am your so called 'boss or sir' how ever it may please you. I wish you would listen to me and work for me instead of being afraid of my manager." The words which fell out of his mouth may look decent enough but every bit of it was wrapped in serious warnings.
"I am sorry."
She mouthed knowing the boy would never listen to her and texting Gilbert about the cancelled plan at least two hours before the scheduled time, may help him. Gilbert was used to it, Kate was used to it, even his guards and drivers because the boy was so ignorant.
