CHAPTER 3

Casper silently followed her because why not? She would be much better than all the cameras out there waiting to kill him with flashes. He was one of the most prominent artist out there and he gives so much importance to his fans that some point, they were getting addicted to him which he didn't realize. She looked behind to see if he was following him and yes, he was doing it. "Are you upset?" Aveline asked as he stopped and threw her hands over his neck pulling him in for a hug. "I am not upset, it is just that I could never be the friend that you wanted me to be. I know you never make friends or get close to anyone yet I am here, making you hate the concept even more." His words came out like whispers as he hugged her back. His raven hair brushing against her face as he dug his face on the crook of her neck. His hands snaked around her petite waist, totally buried in the over sized comfortable shirt she was wearing. Her chest nut colourer hair being free under the pleasant wind. Something was different about that hug from before, maybe because she initiated it rather than the other times. It was not for fun but to make him feel better which she rarely does because it was always on him to cheer her up. He was always lively around her that she envied him for it a lot but who knew that even he needs a push. "I am glad you are here." He mouthed before pulling away. "I should be saying that to you, for giving me a company in this lonely world." Her honey skin, quickly turned pink as she blushed. He noticed it and smiled but didn't bother to tease her knowing that she would be uncomfortable with that. He enjoyed little moments which she gifted him so he had to be very careful to not spoil it. Aveline continued to walk into deeper woods and he followed her, humming to some tunes of his unreleased albums. She mostly had the luck to listen to his unfinished and unreleased snippets before anyone else. "This is the place where I used to come long ago when I really feel lonely." She spoke stopping in front of a open area which was covered by trees from around. "The best option. You would definitely feel twice bored than you were." He scoffed as he looked up to see rays of sunlight falling to the leaf covered ground through the tall trees. "Isn't it beautiful and calming?" She asked ignoring his statement as she suddenly felt more comfortable. "It is but it would be better to come here with the person whom you love. A perfect place to have a fun chat and a little teasing in such a calm place were no one would come?" He asked as a smile spread on his face. "Talk about something that can actually happen." It was just a joke for her but for him, it really hit his heart. What she said is true, he can't have a girl friend even if he wishes for. The way people have been obsessing over him that they ended up messing his love life twice and that was it for him to stop. He was being hopeless and meeting Aveline was like finding his twin flame. Suddenly, they both heard a sudden scream of a girl from the north side of the forest. They were confused because no one usually visits the place as per Aveline's words. She ran to the direction without even telling a word making him chase her not having an idea, where to. Their feet eventually found a stop after a few minues of running aimlessly in the dense forest as the scream ceased. Aveline climbed up on a sloppy rock ignoring his words to get a better view. Casper was acrophobic so he didn't take a chance but stood under her in case if she slips. "Casper!" She alarmed as her eyes were focused on something. "What is it?" He took the hint from her voice as he tried his best to have a look at the place where she was focusing. Aveline jumped off the rock and rolled down the steep leafy surface without a warning. Casper couldn't believe his eyes for few good seconds at the sight because she was incredible. She literally did that stunt with so much ease as if it is her daily routine or somethinh she has mastered with years of hard work. "Aveline, stop!" He called as he tried his best to reach her level. Aveline dashed towards the narrow pit ahead of her and kneeled down as if she was trying to pick someone up. Casper followed her actions and kneeled down next to her to see what had actually happened. It was a girl who would probably be around the age of early twenties in the pit with cuts and scratches all over her body. He couldn't function for a second because such a scene had only happened in movies for him. "Casper, help." Aveline mouthed as she tried to pull the half unconscious girl up. "Ye-yes yes." He said giving his hand for a support and immediately, the girl was lifted from the pit. "Please, save me from him." The girl begged with tears flowing down her cheeks. "What happened to you? Who did this?" Aveline was always the best in comforting especially as her voice was always so soft and warm. "I d-on't kn-ow." She was almost about to pass out in Aveline's arms. " We need to rush her to the hospital now. She is losing blood and God knows where all she is hurt." Casper said as he picked the fragile figure in his hands and ran to the exit. The girl had soft brown hair which was turned to a mess as leaves and sticks were stuck to it from the pit. She wore a golden dress which was torn at numerous places making ut look like she really had a hard time, defending. Her face also had cuts and marks but as far as Casper and Aveline noticed, there was not a sign of human print on the girl. " Casper, go fast." After some struggles, he finally made it to the car being totally worn out. His hands nearly went numb as the weight had killed him all through the way. Aveline proceeded to drive back as he was worried about the incident because it involved the 'man' whomever it is. "Can he be the same man that I saw?" He asked as he leaned to the front seat to Aveline. "That was nothing, okay? You were still thinking of that man you met at work so maybe just had an illusion. I didn't see anyone on the road and this girl is no way linked to us so please don't ask for trouble." " I am not lying to you." He whispered before pulling back to the girl who was leaning on his shoulder by then. . . . Aveline dropped Casper in his apartment before going to the hospital because everyone would notice him and would again drag him into the court room. He is not supposed to hang out with a human especially girls, that is what his fans says. Well not all of his fans, but most of them. The doctor informed Aveline that the girl was not seriously injured physically. "Then what could it be?" "Maybe she saw something which terrified her or someone might have scared her. She needs a lot of rest and care to recover or would end up in the trauma for a long time." The doctor informed as he walked away with a small smile.
