The atmosphere was calm and quiet as usual, just as she expected it to be from her experiences. The comfort of the white over sized air blanket didn't help her at all but she held onto it. There was nothing else that she could think of at three in the morning, except to trust in the present and hope for a better day ahead.
She believed everything would go back to normal, everything would get better soon and some day, she will find the answers to her questions. Her thoughts were disturbed when the slow rhythmic tick-tock of the wall clock caught her attention and she sighed. The wall clock which was still working for God knows what reason because time and days didn't bother her anymore.
What is the use of all this when she is going to live the rest of her life, meaning the whole of her life in the same room? She had travelled to almost all places until she took a break in Canada, to finally give a think about her unending travel and meaningless life.
She took all the courage that she saved and kicked the blanket off her and sat up straight in the bed. Her eyes slowly moved to the blue tinted window which was by the side of the majestic bed and it was a routine for her. Her eyes glistened as the moon light fell on her and as if she was cast in a spell, she moved towards it with soft steps.
She looked weak and tired, lost in some big thoughts and distressed soul which screamed that she need a warm hug and some comforting words. She had made some friends in the past but it was only adding to her pain as she witnessed them drifting apart, seeing them grow old, get sick and finally leaving to somewhere that she could never reach.
It was hard to watch the seasons passing by and nothing changing in her, the same old self just a little tired and lose of hope. She even forgot her name as days passed by as no one was there to remind her about it, the beautiful name she had was soon forgotten by the world.
To hide from the growing world she had to constantly run from one end to another end just to realize that it was the dead end. She had already covered more than three fourth of the earth and was wondering where to stay after finishing the round trip.
It is not like she didn't try, she was always trying to get rid of this eternal life, killing herself over and over in the worst ways. Once by jumping into the ocean, letting herself sink to the deepest bed but then three days later when she opened her eyes, she was in her room as always. She burned herself once and as far as she could remember, she must have turned to ashes but after three days again she woke up in her bed.
"Why me?" She asked as she looked at the moon in the night sky accompanied by the stars.
Even the moon had company although it has been up there since billions of year but Aveline couldn't keep friends even though it has only been six hundred years of her life. She hated for still having emotions, for still feeling pathetic to people knowing nothing would make sense. She had accurate sense to realize the situation and foresee the negatives coming to her. The gentle breeze that passed by, shook her fragile body as she embraced herself and closed her eyes enjoying the moment.
Her chestnut hair flew along with the breeze as few strands brushed past her pale skinned heart shaped face. Her long eyelashes and pink tinted cheeks adding to her soft delicate features. She was a beauty and that could ever take away that innocent yet pure face of her.
She was born that way and she couldn't really remember what happened in her life that she had to face this fate. She tried going back to her past but in one way or other, she got killed and woke up back in her room after three days. A terrible routine which she couldn't ever comprehend or adjust to even after six centuries of constant struggles.
She walked back to the bed and turned on the lamp in the night stand, lighting the room with the faint yellow light making the mural paintings in her wall, glow in it. She pulled the drawer open and took out her diary, the one thing which listened to her worries and took all the boredom that she had.
Aveline knew that she could draw well, maybe in her first life someone had taught her or she was naturally talented. She took out the charcoal pencil that she always uses and leaned back to the pillow with knees brought to her chest.
TIME SKIP...
Aveline woke up hearing the door bell ringing, penetrating into her hopeless dream which she was cherishing. She opened her eyes ever so lazily and tossed the heavy blanket off her as she walked to the door with the messy bed hair. She stood by the door and rubbed her eyes again and again hoping to see a bit of daylight but as always hope was never in her side.
She was too sleepy to try more so instead of any formalities, she just opened the door to receive the biggest hug ever.
"I am home." He screamed while pushing past her to the living area.
"I have warned you a million times not to be so loud early in the morning." She groaned as she locked the door behind her.
"It is one in the noon and may I ask why you are still sleeping? Did you bring anyone home, last night?" He asked as he placed his majestic self on the couch which was messed up with a dozen of pillows.
"Same thing, different day." She groaned as she proceeded to wash her face from the kitchen sink.
"I am just wondering about your life, it is so damn easy." He said with a pinch of jealousy carefully coated in his words.
"Try living it for a month and then talk to me." Aveline grabbed two can of milk shake as she dragged her sleepy figure to the couch, next to him.
He looked at her and snatched the drink which she offered him without saying another word. She was definitely going to go for another round of sleep and he clearly didn't want to baby sit her so looked back at the clock to cross check the time. It was past noon and after three days of intense working, he finally wanted to take few hours off. The only person with whom, he can peacefully breath is Aveline and the only place where he can stay without getting robbed is her home.
"Want to hang out?" He asked as he gulped in the banana milk.
"Where? In your private theatre or in your resort or in your pent house?" She mocked the boy as she laid her head to the side pillow and looking at him.
"Please, somewhere else other than my places. I have had enough in the past three days and my manager, he is the biggest fraud that I have ever met all these years. He made me work for three magazines after taking my appointment for one. Same questions and same answers but three different place and three different appearance." He complained as he finished the milk, letting out all the frustration.
"Who knew being a celebrity is this sick?" She chuckled before averting her gaze back to the door where another knock was heard.
"Please, if it is my manager just say that I haven't seen you in like an eternity." Casper answered before running for his life to some other room.
Aveline huffed as she attended the door and as he had said it was his manager, Gilbert. What kind of a human in twenty first century would keep such a heavy name to himself. The man was even proud of his name that he had asked her to call him Mr. Gilbert whenever he comes across which means almost every time Casper sneaks out from his sight. Aveline knew that Gilbert didn't trust her one bit but since she was a girl, he didn't ever try to get into house for checking.
As usual she lied to him and locked the door with a forced smile because she hates lying for the same reason again and again.
"I can't believe that you are the great Casper Nolan." She said as she pulled away her blanket to see the human figure peaking at her through his long bangs.
"I am a human too even if people out there think that I am a super hero from movies. This is soo tiring." He complained as he sat up and pulling her to sit beside him for a long talk.
"Please, you are not going to whine... are you?" She asked with bored eyes and uninterested face.
"I met someone and I want to tell you about it." He said eagerly, ignoring her groans of boredom.
