Back to Axel's POV
It was already 10 PM but Max arrived at the bar before that. He brought two friends with him. His friend who was a girl was a blue-haired dyed girl and the other was a boy wearing a plain red shirt and ripped jeans.
"Hi there," his blue-haired friend called me, showing her smile. "I'm Danica, but I prefer if you would call me Dani," she introduced herself.
"And I'm Timothy, but Tim's fine" Max's other friend introduced himself, extending his arm for a handshake. I accepted the handshake as Max returned to the table from ordering our drinks. He sat beside me and in front of his friends. "And I guess you already know Max."
There was a teasing part of his voice that I heard but I shrugged it off. "Yes, we already met," I started, smiling at them. "I'm Axel," I introduced myself. I looked at my friends and introduced them to one another.
I looked at the tall person sitting beside me. He was wearing a black button-up polo and he looked good in it. His fragrance, it smelled like strawberries. I don't know why but he doesn't reek of cigarettes this time.
He caught me staring and chuckled. "Take a picture, it'll last longer," he commented, making me blush. It was a good thing that it was dark because I'm sure I'm red as a tomato right now. There's no longer denying it. I have a crush on this person beside me.
It's just a crush, right? I thought to myself. It's okay to admire a friend, right?
"Who said I was looking?" I rebutted, putting out my tongue in a teasing manner. The moment I did that I saw him staring at my lips. I swear by that moment, I never thought I could've blushed any harder.
I took a cup of alcohol to flush down this tomato red face of mine. To have an excuse if anyone asks me why my face is all red because this tall person beside me is still looking at me.
"Oi Max," Philip started, he was smirking, looking at me. I think he knows I'm blushing. "Stop thirsting over my friend, you can have him later."
Can I just die, right now?
I slapped the back of Philip's head. "Stop speaking nonsense," I threatened him, "or you would get much worse than that," I finished, glaring at him, but he wasn't threatened in any way. He was still smirking. Still teasing me.
"Why don't you go dance there," he started, "you always love to dance with strangers," he continued teasing me as I flicked his nose. I really need new friends.
"Dancing with strangers, huh?" Max commented, making me blush harder.
"You were a stranger when we first danced there," I commented, not making the situation any less awkward for me.
"Hmm," he said, taking a drink. I don't know what that was about, but that was the end of the conversation.
"So," I started, looking at my good friend Philip. He smiled at me like he did a good thing. "I'm gonna go dance with strangers," I said, excusing myself at the table.
Maybe Philip was right. Sure, I do love to dance, but just not with any strangers. I prefer cute ones. I think I'm getting drunk.
I couldn't move to go to the dance floor since there's this person beside me that just won't move. I looked at him as if signaling him to move but he stayed there.
"What?" Max asked, feeling innocent while looking at me.
"Move," I ordered, and he did. Now that's a good boy. I heard his friends laughed with comments about how Max is whipped. I blushed at the thought.
I went my way and dance with the crowd, holding my drink in my right hand. The DJ was playing his own record so I don't know what song he was playing.
I was dancing when I felt someone tapped my back. Expecting that person to be Max, I turned around, "What took you so–"
I stopped midsentence because it wasn't Max. It was a boy with bleached hair, wearing orange long sleeves and tan pants. Another soft boy, I thought to myself.
"Oh," he looked at me smiling, "sorry if I took so long, but here I am," he commented at my words. I rolled my eyes, showing no interest in him.
"Sorry," I apologized, "wrong person," I said before turning my back. I returned to dancing around when I figured he still hasn't left.
"I'll be the right person, then," he said, I looked at him weirdly. "I'm Luce, I was looking at you from afar when I saw your cuteness."
Where is he going with this?
"I thought you were with your boyfriend," he stated, pointing at Max. It's my turn to blush. "But when you made your way here on your own, I guessed maybe he's not."
He was smiling like an i***t. I just want to dance unbothered. I used to love the attention when people are offering me drinks and such. Right now, I don't know why I am hating it.
"Hey babe," someone said. I looked at the person behind the one bothering me. It was Max. I blushed harder than I could have thought because here he was calling me that word. "Is this person bothering you?"
"Oh, so it's true," he said, smiling. "I'm sorry, I better go back," he apologized, making his way back to his table.
"What was that?" I asked him, looking directly at his eyes. "Why did you have to act like you're my boyfriend?"
He laughed at my words and put one of his hands on my waist, his other hand on his drink. He moved closer to my ear and whispered, "you looked like you needed saving."
His whisper sent a chill across my spine. It was clear, the message was clear. I'm drunk.
Just as I was about to make a comment, the DJ said that the next song is requested by Max. I looked at him and raised my brow.
"Just listen," he said. "This is not a cheesy song, I love this song," he commented, smiling at me. I looked at his face because we were still close to each other.
"This song is by Carly Rae Jepsen," The DJ started, "Hope you love it my little gay babies." I blushed at what he called the audience. I sure blush a lot today, but who calls their crowd gay babies, anyway?
"I didn't just come here to dance, if you know what I mean"
The beat started slow but as the song progresses it became danceable. I looked at him and he was bobbing his head, still his hand on my waist. When will he remove his grasp on me? I don't want to be rude.
"If you just give me a chance, you'd see what I see."
"Do you see what I see?" He sang the next lyric while dancing. I was studying his face still. I couldn't take it anymore so I removed his grip on me and excused myself.
"Got to refill my drink," I said, showing my empty cup.
I went back to the booth and everyone was looking at me. I just proceeded to sit and refilled my cup. Max was still on the dance floor, dancing to the beat of the song he requested.
"Why do you have to leave the moment when it started getting heated?" My good friend, Philip, teased, so I slapped the back of his head. I glared at him, taking a sip of my drink.
Why do I have this guy who loves to tease me as my best friend?
"I mean," Dani started, looking at me, "he's not wrong."
I blushed at her comment. Good thing I have an excuse on why I was drinking.
"Marry me," Philip commented. I looked at him, horrified at what he said to Dani. "Marry me, and let's tease them forever."
"Where's the ring?" Dani said, this time it was Philip's turn to blush. I laughed at the both of them trying to flirt.
We drank all night and that's when I looked at the time, it was already 2:00 AM. The bar was about to close because the bar that we went to needs to close at 2 AM. Dani and Tim went to take a cab together, leaving me, Philip, and Max alone outside the bar.
"I'm going to take a taxi, also," Philip informed us, but more like Max. He looked at me smirking, then went back to look at Max. "Just as I said earlier, you can take him home. Take care of him for me."
Before I could even comment, he already rode the taxi that he called. I was so irritated at my friend, but I couldn't comment that in front of Max.
I looked at him, the moonlight shining on his face and his face was so beautiful. He was smiling at me.
"I'm hungry," I said, looking at him. "I know a place where we could go," I said before taking his hand. I was holding his hand. I'm holding his hand.
What is happening to me?
