Axel's POV
It's already time for Christmas break and I'm still looking forward to spending it with Max and his friends. And don't forget Philip, I really invited the guy even if he would spend the day teasing me about a certain guy.
Today's the day we're going to leave and go to Dani's place. I'm with Philip at my dorm, waiting for Max to pick us up. Max is supposed to pick us up with his car because he's the only person between us that knows where Dani's place is. I remember him telling me it's somewhere in the province, a secluded area that not many people would be a bother.
I checked the time on my phone and left out a sigh. It's still early, I jumped on my bed, hitting Philip's arm with my hand.
"I'm bored," I told him, burying my face on my pillow. He looked at me like he was annoyed but laughed anyway. He was busy with his phone then placed it on the bedside table.
"Aren't you excited to see your boyfriend today?" He teased, poking my cheeks. I glared at him and slapped his hand away. He laughed at my actions and lied next to me.
"Boyfriend my ass," I said, showing my annoyed face at him. He looked at me seriously and left out a heavy sigh.
"We both know you like him, Axe," he said, picking up his phone and then continued to focus on him.
I didn't have the energy to argue because, let's face it, he was right. And here I am playing a losing game. Placing a bet on a game that I know I would lose at the end. A waiting game, if you could call it that way. I'm still waiting for him to make the first move.
Let's face it, Max is the first person that I like romantically and I don't know how to deal with this in any way. So, I'm placing my bet on him. I'm placing my prayers that he would be the first one to make the move because I don't think that I can.
"How long are you going to wait?" Philip asked beside me. I search at the ceiling for answers. I sighed and closed my eyes.
"I don't know Phil, it's all new to me," I said, not wanting to continue the conversation any longer. I heard him sigh as he patted my head. I sighed as well, not knowing when this frustration will end. I checked my phone to see if I got any new notification.
I opened my phone when I see that I received a new message from Max. He said to prepare for he was near.
"Oi," I called Philip from the side, "let's go outside, Max is near."
I pocketed my phone and stood up. Grabbing the bag I prepared from the side, and watched Philip do the same.
"You owe me one for this," Philip said, probably he means by him accompanying me. I beamed a smile at him and walked outside.
As I went to the gate of my dorm, I heard a honk from a white car. The door opened and revealed the owner of the said car. I smiled at Max and went towards him.
"Let's put that in the back," he said grabbing my bag and open the trunk.
"Oi," Philip called as he closed the gate. "Aren't you going to help me as well?" he teased, making me roll my eyes.
"You're pretty much capable of doing that on your own," Max said, laughing. Philip walked towards Max and gave him his bag to be put in the trunk of Max's car.
I looked at Max's outfit for today. He was wearing his typical style, black polo and tan pants. The only new thing today is that he was wearing a pair of shades. It looks good on him.
He caught me staring so I flashed him a smile. Now is not the time to deny what I really feel because there's no point in denying it any longer.
"Now, off to Dani's place," Philip said from the background, breaking the staring contest between us. I felt myself blush. Philip opened the door from the back and told me to go sit shotgun.
I sighed as I opened the door beside the driver's seat. I took my seat and smiled at Max. Off to another adventure.

"Spin, spin, spin," said the people around me. I drank my shot as I prepare to spin the bottle. I looked at the guy in front of me. Max. I wish the bottle would point at him.
We were at Dani's place with Dani, Tim, Philip, and Max. I looked at Max and smiled. He returned the smile with a nervous one. Oh sure, I'm the one spinning the bottle and you're the one who's nervous.
We're currently playing spin the bottle and well, you know how the rules go.
I spin the bottle with a nervous one, praying that it would at least point at Max. I took a shot as the bottle keeps spinning. In my disappointment it pointed at Dani.
She crawled towards me and pecked my lips. She mouthed a sorry towards Max and Max just shrugged his shoulders. I was annoyed at that point. Maybe he doesn't really like me if he can act that cool.
The game continued and I was sure I was pretty drunk when the game ended. I was lying on the floor while everyone was taking their space in the room assigned to them.
"Hey Axel," Dani called, "You go take a room with Max, better behave okay."
I flashed her a smile as she chuckled at my drunk actions. I was still lying down on the floor when I felt someone poking my cheeks.
"Axe, I'm so dizzy," Philip said, sitting beside me. "I think I'm going to sleep already, good night."
And with that he left, leaving me lying on the floor.
"What are you doing there?" It was Max's turn to question my drunk actions. I smiled at him and told him to come near.
I sat down when he knelt next to me.
I moved my face closer as I touch his face. He was looking right straight to my eyes., he could probably see my soul right now. I moved closer to his ears.
"I want to watch the stars," I whispered, smiling at him. He returned the smile with a bright one. He nodded and stood up. He offered his hand which I gladly took and stood up. We were now holding hands, once again.
Is this what friends do? Hold hands when drunk?
If this is what I get for being drunk, because if it is then I would rather get drunk always. But this is not my reality. Not the love story I would rather have.
He led me outside, probably thinking I would sit down at the cold cement. Nope, I lied down and laughed because I felt the cold concrete on my back. He looked at me as if worried about something.
"You might get cold," he said, but I patted the space behind my head. Motioning for him to lie down with me.
He did as he was told to do. He lied down beside me in an opposite manner. His head was beside me and if I turned to face him, my eyes would face his lips. I focused on the stars when I hear him sing.
"I'm feeling like a holy roller like I joined a cult."
I focused my attention on the sky as I smiled because of what he is singing. His voice soothing me. I don't know if it's the alcohol but the feeling is ten times better this way.
"I'm feeling like a holy roller, and it's all your fault."
I closed my eyes, not knowing what to do next.
"I can't repent for something I meant."
I turned to my side to look at him and he did the same. I felt our noses brush against one another and I left out a giggle. I looked at his eyes as he continued singing.
"Besides, you know I love the punishment."
"Have I ever told you that I love your voice?" I told him. I saw him turn red from what I said as he finished his song.
"Like a holy roller, and it's all your fault."
I looked at his eyes, his nose, then his lips. I felt myself turn red as I close my eyes. And I didn't open them anymore as I felt a hand on my face and a pair of lips on my forehead.
I felt cold as the body beside me was no longer there and felt a hand on my waist as if someone was carrying me.
I don't know why but I'm pretty sure I slept with a smile that night. I slept that night with Max beside me. For the first time in a few years, I slept like nothing was bothering me.
I never knew you could feel something like this even with your eyes closed.
