Phillipe - Narrowly avoided mistake

1028 Words
She starts today. No matter what has gone on over the last couple of days, that woman has never left my mind. Hell not once has she shown any interest and yet, I feel like I'm counting down the minutes till I get to see her again. I ended up getting in earlier than I normally do. I would like to say I was productive, but, I waited hours staring at her desk checking the time like some stalker. She should be in by now. I hope nothing has happened. I got out of my office close to her desk. Just as she got in, I think her heel caught and I just managed to catch her before she fell. The touch of her against my body was stirring thoughts and feelings that I shouldn't have. I am almost twice her age. She has so much to do and, with her beauty and brains, she could have a pick of men. Yeah, she needs to pick better, but she's still got time. I love the way she blushes when looking up at me. This woman is going to be my downfall. Those beautiful eyes staring up at me. I can't help but rake my eyes over her body. My hand flowed across her cheek. I knew she would have beautiful soft skin. I would give anything to kiss those lips, so full and ready to be tasted. Just when I was leaning down, just about to kiss her, I noticed her hair clip. I can't help but wonder if she was as excited as I was, so she rushed to get here to see me. More than likely, she got up late, but a guy can dream. That is how I managed to set up this business and make a killing in advertising, selling dreams. When she left my arms, I couldn't stop staring at her. The curves on her body were hypnotic. I swear she added an extra sway to her hips, knowing I was still watching her, or was that just wishful thinking? This is a woman that is practically half my age and has got me hooked and I haven't even kissed her yet. I tried to stay away from her all day. I was trying to get work done and all I could think of was the woman that was sitting outside my office. The one I wanted to kiss, taste, and make scream my name over and over again. I wanted to please her in every way I could and she wanted to let me. It was so close to the end of the day and after a pointless meeting with Bob from finance, who couldn't get a spreadsheet to balance if his life depended on it, Why I haven't sacked him yet is beyond my knowledge. I sent my last email and I was about to go home, but I thought I would take one last look and saw Bob, Bloody Bob, standing at her desk. The meeting ended over 20 minutes ago. The fact he was still talking to her made my blood boil. What was he still doing here? Was he trying to chat her up? She was mine!!! What was he thinking? Crap, did I just think she was mine? She's my employee and Bob needs to leave NOW! “Hey, Bob, can you do your job and leave my assistant to hers?” When I told Bob to leave I couldn't hide my annoyance with the cheek of a man that didn't stand a chance with such a smart beautiful woman. She must be able to tell that he is as useless as a chocolate fire guard. Saying that I've seen her taste in men and, honestly, I am not sure I should let any other man come to my office anymore. Maybe I should schedule them in the conference room. I know it was just a joke, but actually I kind of like it. Make sure no other man bothers her. I walked up to her desk and i couldn't help but place my hand on her arm. I don't know if it was to guide her or make Bob realize she was mine. “I need you to be doing your job, Lily, not trying to line up a date.” I don't know why I said it. I was annoyed and the thought of her wanting someone else other than me made me angry. I can't remember the last time I wanted someone this bad. She was mad, I could tell, but I couldn't help myself. “I need you to be able to save yourself, Lily, I'm not always going to be there to save you." The meaning of this wasn't lost on her, I could tell. I just want to be able to save her from everything but I know I can't. “I am sorry Phillipe, he was trying to introduce himself and I should have made it clear that I was working and would only talk or answer to you.” Why did her response excite me so much? I smiled! If only that could be the case, Lily, if only. “Well, then aren’t I a lucky boss with such a devoted employee,”, I'm flirting with her, crossing a line I shouldn't. I don't want to let go of her. My hand was still on her arm. I pulled her closer. I could feel the heat radiating through her body. She was pressed against me. I was just about to lean down and kiss her when. The sprinklers and alarms started going off. If that wasn't a sign I was being a silly old man, I am not sure what it was. We both tried to make it out of the building with the sprinklers drenching us and the fire alarm was ringing in our ears. We were both drenched and stood outside shivering, watching as the firemen pulled up to inspect the building. Turns out it was just our section that had gone off. That is a sign and a half. Here's a mistake I narrowly avoided.
