Two days after the unsettling incident at the hospital, we were finally discharged and allowed to go home.
The relief of leaving the hospital behind and returning to the sanctuary of our own home was immense. The nurses had been wonderful, and the doctors reassuring, but nothing compared to the feeling of crossing our own threshold. Plus I missed my bed.
