The next morning, the stark reality of Michael’s arrest settled heavily on my shoulders. The doctor said he needed to first talk to Michael before he told us why his kids were not a match. I had to find a way to help him, I just couldn’t let him go to jail for trying to help his daughter, our daughter. Because he is not a citizen it will take weeks or even months before the state assigns a lawyer to him. So I planned to ask Antonio for help, I just don’t know if he would agree to it.
