Chapter 2

Dorothy's POV

*Flashback

I am the only child of my late parents ,my father Mr. Alex was a wealthy business man who owned most of the blooming businesses in town. Despite being this rich he was always haunted by those who wanted to take him to the grave and take all his wealth.

My mom who by then was pregnant and on the verge of giving birth to me also faced a lot of threats from those perpetrators, it wasn’t long after I was born that my father was travelling for one of his business meetings when he was attacked even though he was heavily guarded he could not escape the cold hands of death that day.

After this incident took place my mom had to become the sole manager of my father’s empire and this only brought misery upon her, after my dad’s demise my mom was their next target.

With all this ,she managed to bring me up and protected me till recently. We woke up around 3:30 am this morning to the sound of gunshots ,my mom quickly hid me in our closet ,I was still hiding in the closet when I heard those men asking her for a certain map, when she proved adamant the next thing I heard was the sound of gunshot and her loud scream. In a bid to save her when I ran out of the closet she was laying lifeless with a bullet piercing through her skull .

That was when I run into the woods and they chased after me till you rescued me .

Michael’s POV

Okay I see, but why didn’t they kill you instead but chased you all the way here doesn’t it sound ridiculous and a bit interesting.

Dorothy’s POV

They wouldn’t dare to kill me they very much need those documents and they can only get it through me that is why I am still alive if not they would have killed me back then when they s**t my mom .I just hope you won’t be in danger because of me.

Michael’s POV

Hmm,this is quite a story but anyways you can stay here for the night and leave first thing tomorrow morning I hope that will do .You can take the room to the left and if you need anything don’t hesitate to ask and by the way I go by the name Michael. After telling her that I quietly left to my room to have a peaceful night’s sleep not until morning when I heard loud sirens wailing with cars racing towards my house .

Dorothy also came out when she heard the noise and that was when I noticed a small magnetic tracker attached to her shirt .Oh s**t ,you have been tracked down ,I quickly removed the tracker and destroyed it .

It seems she was quite dumbfounded by what is happening so I just pulled her and run towards my secret backdoor to escape ,immediately we were out I heard one of them saying remember we need her alive she holds the key .

Just then my house exploded due to the bombs they had planted after searching through the house. I don’t get it this is totally killing me,why would they be after you? Can’t they just go and look for the documents themselves, why on earth would a young girl like you know where it is.
