After Emma messaged William for the cancellation of plans she knew it would not be easy to convince him all over again for a meet up. He appeared to be constantly busy somewhere nobody knew about. Also this has never been a concern for Emma, she knew she will eventually find out, at first she used to think that he might be busy looking after his father's business but after Mr. Andrew Anderson went bankrupt there was nothing to stay busy for. Although they were trying really hard to come up in the race again but apparently they were failing.
William's attitude of being busy and having no time for Emma at times irritated her but again thinking of their wedding ultimately, calmed her down. William always thought that hanging out with your fiance was a total waste of time when you know that you have to do the same thing for the rest of your life. It was hardly 2-3 times after engagement when they had met and it was either in some restaurant or in a coffee shop, there was no dating like a couple or intimate moments where they acted like a couple.
When there is nothing, even the bare minimum becomes more than enough and this was exactly something happening to Emma. Emma had no idea if she really loved William or it was just a temporary and heavy attraction towards him in which she ended up asking her parents to her engaged to William. Although she never regretted the decision. William did not seem to be dissatisfied or even happy, he just went with what his parents asked him to do. He confessed in front of Emma that he never had time to fall in love and acceoting the reality of life he knew he had to get married to someone at some point of life so he just went with the flow.
Convincing and initiating something has always been a difficult step for Emma but in William's case she never realized that she was the one always convincing and intiating things. Now she knew that all over again she will have to text him and ask for his time, when she suddenly that day got a call from William telling him that he was available for a meetup tomorrow and he was guessing that after cancelling the previous plan she would want to meet him. She got so happy that without even giving a second thought she said yes.
Later that day, when Sarah invited her to join for the spa day, Emma readily agreed. She realized that Sarah would be preoccupied with the spa activities, providing Emma with a much-needed respite from the constant barrage of texts and calls from her mother. Plus, it offered a chance for Emma to spend quality time with William without any interruptions. Asking Emma for company was not an easy task since she was always busy in activities with her friends and Sarah was happy after she made this quick decision.
Sarah told Emma about 2pm plan and Emma decided accordingly, she took two of her best dresses she had recently shopped for, wore the heels and left for a friend's place where she was planning to get ready. William had asked her out for lunch which meant around 3pm and Emma had to leave her house before 2pm leaving Sarah with no option but to go without her. Emma decided to got to her childhood's best friend Celine. Celine also knew William, because of all of them being family friends and meeting often in the social gatherings.
Emma was so overwhelmed that she even forgot to have breakfast before leaving. As soon as she reached to Celine's place she went straight to get ready because it was going to take an hour deciding things that would impress William. She wanted to have a perfect look for her date because it happened only once in a while.
She decided the navy blue skirt with the sleeveless blouse. The skirt hugged her curves gracefully, while the blouse added a touch of sophistication with its delicate details. Her bob cut framed her sharp features perfectly, giving her a polished look. With a hint of makeup enhancing her look and a pair of stylish heels completing the ensemble she was ready to head out.
She reached the restaurant on time thinking that she would be the first to come but she also knew that William was more punctual than him and was always there before time. As expected, William was already waiting for him.
Despite his striking appearance—a handsome man in his 30s with sharp cheekbones and piercing blue eyes—he exuded an air of disinterest for the people around him. His tall frame lent him an imposing presence, accentuated by his neatly styled black hair. Dressed in a black polo shirt, complemented by dark jeans and polished leather shoes, he appeared effortlessly stylish yet indifferent. As he idly scanned the room, his mind seemed preoccupied, his thoughts elsewhere as he awaited Emma's arrival.
"Heyy," greeted Emma with a smile as she approached William.
"Hi, how are you doing now?" William responded as he got up and pulled the chair for Emma.
"I'm good, thanks. How about you? You look great," she continued and took the seat.
"I'm good too, thank you," William replied, returning the compliment with a polite smile.
Emma reciprocated with a smile and too
Emma took the initiative again, asking, "How long have you been waiting for?"
"Barely 5 minutes," William replied, downplaying the wait even if he had been there for fifteen.
"Let's order something," William suggested.
"Yes, I skipped breakfast too, so I'm very hungry," Emma admitted. William ignored her comment while she continued, "I'll order the Cordon Bleu, with a berry punch."
After they were done ordering Emma got quiet waiting for William to initiate this time. And he did but left Emma disappointed this time with the news he had.
