Feeling isolated and overlooked throughout the day, Tyler prepared to leave for home when a murmuring sound caught his attention. Turning around, he saw John and Liam approaching him, a sight that both surprised and perplexed him. Setting his bag aside, Tyler hesitated, uncertain of their intentions. It was an unusual occurrence for anyone to approach him when Olivia wasn't around.
"Hey, you're leaving?" John's voice broke through the silence, his tone carrying a hint of curiosity.
"Yeah, classes are over for the day," Tyler responded, his words tinged with a mixture of resignation and detachment.
"We're heading home too. We could drop you off on our way. Where exactly do you live?" Liam's offer caught Tyler off guard.
Tyler hesitated for a moment before politely declining. "Um, no thank you. I walk home daily. It's nearby."
"You live nearby? Really?" John interjected with a laugh, a hint of mockery evident in his tone. He and Liam exchanged knowing glances, convinced that Tyler's claim was nothing more than an attempt to avoid their offer.
Everybody studying with Tyler knew that he belonged to a middle class family and all the nearby area was one of the most expensive areas in the city.
"Stop it, John," Liam chided, his voice firm. Turning back to Tyler, he reiterated the offer, genuine concern in his eyes. But Tyler, accustomed to fending for himself, politely refused once again before walking away.
As he distanced himself from John and Liam, Tyler couldn't help but reflect on his past experiences. Growing up in a middle-class family, he had endured years of bullying for not being as rich as his peers. He had become accustomed to being the target of ridicule and scorn, enduring the taunts and jokes with stoic resilience.
John and Liam were emblematic of the privileged elite, born into wealth and privilege. Their condescending attitude towards Tyler only served to reinforce the gaping divide between them. Despite his best efforts to stand up to them, Tyler's ingrained sense of inferiority only seemed to deepen with each encounter.
This was also one of the reasons that he never had any friends and never in his wildest of dreams he ever thought that Olivia would become his girlfriend. His relationship with Olivia had been a beacon of light in the darkness, a source of strength and solace amidst the trials and tribulations of college life. With her by his side, he had found the courage to confront his tormentors and silence their taunts. This incident of Liam and John also happened after quite a time.
Yet, even in Olivia's presence, Tyler couldn't shake off the lingering shadow of his insecurities. Olivia since always knew about his complex of being a middle class boy and despite her best intentions, her efforts to integrate him into her social circle had only served to exacerbate his feelings of inadequacy.
Unbeknownst to both Tyler and Olivia, their relationship had inadvertently become a crutch for Tyler, shielding him from the harsh realities of the world outside their bubble.
As he walked home alone, Tyler made a silent vow to himself. He would defy the constraints of his upbringing and forge his own path to success, no matter the cost. If he couldn't change his past, he would mold his future into something far greater than anyone had ever imagined. For now he did not know how but he knew he had to do something even if he had to break hearts or go beyond his comfort zone for this. Afterall, he never really cared for the realtionshiops he had in his life. And as he disappeared into the fading light of dusk, the fire of determination burned brightly in his eyes, propelling him forward on his journey towards greatness.

After a succession of social gatherings and parties, Sarah finally found herself with a free day. She had eagerly anticipated a spa day booked for herself and Emma, only to find herself stood up at the last minute. Despite informing Emma the night before about their planned departure time of 2:00 pm, Sarah was puzzled when she descended the stairs ready to leave, only to be informed by a house helper that Emma had already left, without divulging her whereabouts. Emma had always been reticent with the household staff, preferring to keep her own counsel rather than involve her parents in her decisions.
Returning home around 6:00 pm, Sarah was surprised to find Emma still absent. Attempting to reach her daughter, Sarah's call was promptly declined, met with a terse message: "I will be late." Sarah resigned herself to the fact that questioning Emma's whereabouts would be futile; if she hadn't disclosed her plans before leaving, she certainly wouldn't do so via text.
Lost in thought, Sarah was jolted back to reality by the sound of laughter emanating from the adjacent room, where Olivia and Sarah were enjoying each other's company. Sarah couldn't help but ponder the decision to have only one daughter, questioning whether it had been the right choice. She entertained the notion that perhaps if Emma had a sibling, she would spend more time at home and develop a closer bond with her family. However, she realized that Emma's behavior wasn't solely influenced by sibling dynamics, but rather by her upbringing.
Although Sarah never tried to hurt her step daughters, her unintentional competition and in order to make Olivia and Sophia feel jealous had inadvertently spoiled Emma. While Sarah had lavished her with material possessions, she failed to recognize that Olivia and Sophia were deprived of relationships and never wanted to have materialistic things and they never paid attention to what Emma had, but a blessing of love and attention of parents Emma had.
Despite Sarah's efforts to provide for her daughter's every whim, she had overlooked the importance of nurturing meaningful relationships.
Though Sarah's relationship with her husband, James Wilson, had become strained following the revelation of his affair, they remained together as a couple, maintaining a facade of normalcy. The issue of having another child had never been a point of contention between them, as James remained indifferent to the prospect. Sarah harbored regrets about the decision to have only one child, knowing that she alone bore the responsibility for Emma's upbringing.
Unable to share her regrets with James, Sarah grappled with the realization that her actions had shaped Emma's upbringing and ultimately contributed to the strained relationship between mother and daughter. As she reflected on the missed opportunity for Emma to have a sibling, Sarah acknowledged the complexity of her own emotions and the impact of her decisions on her family dynamic.
