Daniel’s POV
I couldn’t stop thinking about her. Helena. My fiancée. The girl I thought I had under control. And yet… she had a way of slipping past me. Always.
Last night, she went out with her friends. She didn’t call. Didn’t text. Didn’t even leave a hint of where she was. My chest tightened just thinking about it. She had no right to do that.
And then there was Damon Blake. The way he looked at her in the office this morning… it made my blood boil. That smirk, the casual confidence, the way he made her flush… it wasn’t just annoying—it was a threat. She was mine. She had always been mine.
I paced back and forth, fists clenching. I remembered every detail from this morning—the way she had avoided my gaze, the subtle fear in her eyes when I spoke, and that damn look she had given Damon. It made my stomach twist with jealousy.
I had to confront her. Tonight. No excuses. She needed to understand who she belonged to.
Helena’s POV
I laughed too loudly, drank too much, and let my frustrations spill to my friends. Not about Tristan, of course—they didn’t need to know about him. But Daniel? I told them everything—the control, the constant accusations, the way he always made me feel like I was doing something wrong.
“I just can’t anymore,” I admitted, gripping my glass tightly. “He doesn’t trust me. He doesn’t even… see me.”
They gasped, shocked at how much I had endured. And I didn’t even mention the part with Damon. Some things were better left secret—for now.
By the time I got home, my head was spinning, and the apartment was eerily quiet. Then came the text from the landlord:
“My family is returning. You need to vacate the apartment immediately.”
I groaned and sank onto the bed. Who could I turn to? Mykel. Of course. My only real lifeline.
After a frantic call, he sent me his address and a key. “I have a roommate,” he said, “but it’s fine. Just stay there until I’m back.”
He didn’t mention who the roommate was. And before I could ask, the line went dead. Emergency, he said.
I sighed and dragged my suitcase to the apartment, bracing myself to meet a stranger.
The Collision
I opened the door—and froze.
Damon Blake. Standing in the living room. Arms crossed. Smirking like he owned the place.
“What are you doing here?” I shouted, my voice cracking with disbelief.
At the same time, he looked as shocked as I felt.
“Helena?” he asked, eyes wide.
The air between us thickened.
“I… Mykel said…” I stammered, trying to explain, but my words felt hollow.
“You mean… this was supposed to be your safe place?” Damon, said slowly, amusement and exasperation lacing his voice.
My chest tightened. I wanted to scream, run, cry—but I couldn’t.
And then I remembered Daniel. The thought of him finding out made my stomach twist. He would explode if he knew I had stepped foot in this apartment, especially with Damon here.
Somewhere, deep inside, I knew there was no turning back. My worlds—Daniel and Damon—were colliding in a way that would change everything.
Daniel’s POV (Jealousy Ignites)
I should have been home. I should have been making sure she was safe. But I wasn’t. And now, my worst fears were real.
I imagined her standing there, facing Damon, his smirk brushing against her like he had a right to her. My fists tightened. That man had no idea what it meant to mess with her—or with me.
This wasn’t just jealousy. This was fury. And tonight, Helena would have to answer to me.
Helena’s POV
I was still staring at Damon, my heart racing like it wanted to escape my chest.
Out of all the places in the world… it had to be here.
“You live here?” I finally managed to ask.
He tilted his head slightly, studying me like I was a puzzle.
“I could ask you the same thing.”
I let out a shaky breath. “Mykel… he said I could stay here for a while.”
Something flickered in his eyes at Mykel’s name, but it disappeared just as quickly as it came.
