MIA
"Take that away from here, " My Stepmother ordered me, pointing at a dress she had dropped in the living room from her last night's outing.
"My sweetheart will be here any minute from now. I don't want him thinking my place is a mess," She said, adjusting her clothes.
I did as she said, taking the dress into the room. Before I could step out, I heard my stepmother scream out loud.
"Mom!" I panicked, running out to see what had happened to her, only to find her in Cage's arms, kissing his cheek.
The sight of this left me irritated, taking my mind to that day at his mansion.
"I still can't believe I allowed him to have me," I said, recalling how Cage rode me like an animal.
"I've missed you, my love," Mom said to Cage, kissing him more.
"I've missed you too," Cage said, glancing at me multiple times.
Seeing this triggered a detest for Cage. I just don't like to see that man. He reminds me of Andrew.
When Tania went in to put on a dress she got specially for her lover to see, Cage had me against the wall, trying to get cozy with me.
"Stop it!" I sparked, pushing him away.
"Why being stubborn, Mia?" He smirked, trying to touch me again.
I smacked it off, showing my detest for him.
"It hurts me to see my mother drooling over a man like you. I don't like you and would never. Don't touch me again," I warned, pointing at Cage.
He looked at me putting on a serious face which slowly turned into a smirk.
"I know you don't like me, and one day you will accept me." He drew his hand towards me and I smacked it away.
He chuckled, getting me angry even more. I walked away on hearing Tania's voice.
I don't want to be around him.
.
The next day, I left for school. And when I got there, I was received strangely by my schoolmates.
"Hey, Mia. Care to join us at the basketball court after class?"
"Em, no thanks. I have other things to do, " I said, turning down the offer while heading for class, feeling weird.
"Mia!" A group of girls called me, rushing towards my point.
Their arms fell around my shoulder as they invited me to join them at the cafeteria for a group talk.
"You're going to love it, " They said.
And just like the other group, I turned them down.
"I have something to do. I'm sorry," I said.
"Oh, it's okay. Whenever you're free, just tell us, " They said, waving bye to me.
I waved back at them, heading to the class.
And when I got to the class, it was the same thing. Everyone had their eyes on me and wouldn't stop gawking.
Even Cherry and her friends had their eyes on me. Instead of walking up to me like before to bully me, they just stayed where they were, rolling their eyes.
This felt relieving.
After that incident at the party, I hadn't been able to walk freely, but when Cage intervened, I finally had peace of mind.
"So, is it true that Cage Rolland is going to be your Dad? Like you're going to be a billionaire's daughter?"
"You are lucky."
"I was stunned when I saw him with you that day. Even Andrew couldn't do anything."
"But won't it feel weird that you and Andrew are going to be cousins?"
They all said, trying to get near me at the cafeteria.
I had to avoid and answer some questions. But it made me feel so good.
"Now everyone wants to be with me, " I viewed in my heart, feeling happy.
This sudden acceptance from those who once rejected me sparked an idea in my head, and I was sure it would help me bounce back on my feet.
Once the school was over, I made my way over to Cage's company. The security had wanted to stop me, not until I told him my name.
"Tell him it's Mia," I said to the security, who gazed at me like a liar.
He called Cage and I noticed his face changing into one who was scared.
"Okay, sir. Right away, sir, " He said, dropping the phone.
"I'm sorry. You can go in now, " He said, paving the way.
I went into the company and was led to Cage's office by his secretary.
"Mr Rolland, your daughter is here, " The secretary said to Cage, referring to me as his daughter.
Cage was already on his feet as he told me to come in, sending his secretary away.
I saw him walking towards me with a smile, before making his way to the door, shutting it locked.
"What brings you here, Mia? " He asked, approaching me.
I immediately stopped him with my hand and said, "I didn't come here for that, Mr Rolland. I need your help with something."
"My help? " He lifted his brow.
"Yes."
"What kind of help? " He bit his lip, drawing nearer despite my hand shooting out to stop him.
This man is just something.
"Look, I didn't come here for that! I want your help in making people at my school like me, " I shared, and it got him stopping.
He looked amused at my request, which I ignored, explaining what I noticed.
"After you took me away from school that day, everyone now wants to be my friend. I want your help in becoming popular. I want to get people to like and accept me."
"So, what's the catch?"
"Huh?" I asked, noticing that twinkle in Cage's eyes.
"Aren't you going to do it for free? You know you're going to be my stepdad soon."
"If I recall, you said you aren't going to accept me as one. So, I see this more as a business deal than a father-and-daughter talk. So, what's the catch?" He crossed his arms at me.
The grin he had on me made me wish I could smack it off, but at this point, I needed his help to start my life afresh.
"What do you want from me?"
"You, " He answered, leaving my cheeks flushing red.
"All I want is for you to be my mistress, Mia." He drew closer while my feet drew back, meeting the wall.
I couldn't move from this point. His two hands came beside me, blocking my way with me in the middle.
"Be my mistress and I'll give you whatever you want. That's all I want from you, my dear. Do you accept it ?" He smirked at me.
