In the dining chamber, Mellisando was already dishing out the delectable feast onto plates, her movements swift and precise. As the others arrived, they took their designated seats, ready to partake in the culinary delight. Before indulging in the savory fare, they bowed their heads in prayer, seeking blessings for the nourishment before them. Silence enveloped the room, broken only by the clinking of cutlery against porcelain.
Mellisando, seething with unspoken fury, kept her gaze lowered, refusing to meet anyone's eyes. Mellisah, sensing an unsettling aura, glanced at her father before shifting her attention to her troubled sister, Mellisando. It was evident that something was amiss, a dissonance in the air. Suddenly.
Mellisah's daughter, the innocent Bridget, shattered the silence with her innocent inquiry. "Father, why is it that today you withhold the enchantment of the food, the tales you always share with us?" Lost in his own thoughts, the grandfather to the little girl remained silent, failing to respond. “Father?" the cherubic angel persisted, her voice filled with curiosity. "Yes, my dear, what were you saying?" Her words echoed once more, and Bridget repeated her previous query. The father's excuse was feeble, claiming the frailty of age as the reason for his forgetfulness.
But Mellisando, her anger now brimming over, could no longer contain her emotions. Rising from her seat, she interjected, her voice laced with frustration. "It is not your age that hinders you. It is the web of secrets you weave, pretending to love and care for us when your heart is far from it. Your affection is nothing but a facade, a deceitful charade. None of us truly matter to you. It's all a grand illusion!"
Mellisah and her two children, Bridget and Clint, were taken aback by the words and actions displayed by their father. The father feigned ignorance and wore a perplexed expression in response to Mellisando's statements.
Mellisando proceeded to express her disbelief at her father's feigned shock and claimed that he had concealed the visit of the Pluto king to their palace thirty years ago, as well as the subsequent deal he had made with him, from Mellisah. Mellisando further accused her father of displaying indifference towards Mellisah by attempting to send her away in order to protect himself from potential conflicts arising from his past dealings. Mellisando concluded her remarks by expressing her disappointment in her father.
