Selina's POV
His words struck me dumb.
I stared at him, "What do you mean by there is none?" My tone was laced with disbelief.
He turned his screen toward me, and I could see the column of balance: 0.00
My mind went blank, then I dialed Luka's number.
At this moment, I realized that I had forgotten to tell Luka what had happened to Nora!
Was I too shocked? Or, was it because, deep down, I no longer count on him...
Well, I didn't have the answer.
Anyway, I was calling him now. I wanted to ask him about our savings, those precious Moonstones! His daughter's life depended on them!
But I couldn't reach him. His phone was off!
What the hell?
I tried a few more times, but still, I couldn't reach him.
Clenching my teeth, I dialed Jake's number.
