Luka turned to me and asked, "Babe, what's up?"
I quickly put my phone away and said, "Oh, it's nothing. Elise texted me."
I put some food into my mouth. I said casually as I chewed, "She's been stressed out at work. So, I bet she wants to chat a bit."
Luka sipped on his cream soup and didn't ask further.
I felt the fluctuation in his pheromones. So, he was really worried whenever I mentioned Elise.
Well, he really should be worried because we were teaming up to tear off his mask of deception!

After we got home, I carried my phone into the bathroom and texted her back.
"What's the good news?"
"I found the perfect guy to join our team. He was a lawyer/private detective/Gourmet... Anyway, he's gonna be really helpful."
"Good job! I'll see you tomorrow at work."
