Selina's POV The first rays of sunlight filtered through the curtains, but I had been awake for hours. My mind was a battlefield, mapping out every move for the war ahead. Before doing anything else, I reached out to my mother through the mind link. "Mom? How's Dad? Is he awake?" I asked quickly, my mental voice trembling slightly. "He's awake, Selina," her voice came back, sounding exhausted but relieved. "The pack doctors say the worst is over. His life is not in danger anymore. And I heard about the storm.
