Chapter Nineteen
I heard from Recca late that afternoon. Melody had contacted her via back-channel, demanding to know what the hell was going on. Recca freed Agent Ling and asked Melody not to report anything to her chain of command until they'd had a chance to talk it through. Melody agreed, but only on condition that they meet immediately. And that I attend. In person, not by astral projection. Based on what Lilly and I had learned, and failed to learn, from the Tapestry, I figured the meet was a good next move for me, anyway.
