Days later, Lyra ordered the kitchen servants to prepare a sort of meal and take it to Odessa's room. When she had a double mind about it, she waited behind until they were done, and then she left with them to Odessa's room. She opened the door, and the servants served the meal on the table before leaving, then she tapped Odessa awake. Odessa hissed when she felt a palm touch her cheek.
