Arabella
A groan escaped my parted lips, the sounds filled my ears awakening every senses of mine, and I felt a wave of goosebumps radiating through my skin, I felt like something was itching to come out of me, the sound was antagonizing.
I felt a wave of anxiety washed over me when I placed the pillow between my two ears, I hated this noise, there was something about it that made me uncomfortable and even at home, I always knew this noise is not good news, it’s never good news.
My door sprung open, causing me to jolt in my position when the pillows fall to the ground and my eyes glanced to Alpha Nathan.
He stood in front of the door with his gun, he didn’t even spare me a glance, did he come here to protect me? Or to make sure I don’t escape
Did he think father got someone to rescue me? I had doubted he will ever do that unless someone forced him too.
“Don’t make a f*****g move.” Nathan yelled, I watched as he pulled out his phone and he typed aggressively and in a second, the sound vanished.
I felt a wave of relief wash over me, my body resting when he turned to look at me.
“What happened?” I whispered.
“Are you pretending you have no idea what that sound meant?.” Nathan asked and I didn’t speak, he placed his gun on the table center table, next to the food, that I didn’t dare eat after he left
I was worried he will be watching me and the last thing I need is to piss off the Alpha especially when I am trying to navigate where I am.
My eyes glanced at the gun.
“If I were you, I will not even think about making that mistake.” Nathan spoke. “I can think of a thousand ways this will go wrong and each of them, it will end with your death.”
He was confident about that and I didn’t speak, I knew that he was right, I didn’t know how to fight like he did and if he changed, it’s not going to be of any help to me.
“I think your father is messing with me, he is trying to take you back.” He spoke and a chuckle escaped my lips. “You think it’s a joke.”
“I am not Arabella, no one will come to find me, my parents are simple people, I may look like Arabella but I have no idea what you are talking about.” I lied.
His eyes twitched as he moved closer to me, he didn’t look any happy, when he took another inch, my mind begged me to run, to find a place to hide yet I didn’t listen.
My heart wanted me to take a step away yet my feet felt glued to the ground and all I did was stare at Nathan, there was something about him, something I can’t seem to glance my finger on.
“Show me.” Nathan spoke and my eyes widened in shock. “You are not Arabella, take off your clothes and show me.” He spoke and I didn’t move.
I can’t.
“You can’t.” He whispered with a smile on his face, as if he could read my mind. “You can’t show me because you know that you have the symbol of your pack imbedded on your skin on your back.” He spoke
I did, we all did, I was born with it, that’s how you know if a woman has been true to her husband or she went behind his back to have a baby outside the territory, the mark was on ever one, on any part of their body but with Bella and I, we were the direct bloodline so just like father, our mark was on our back.
“Don’t.” I whispered when he took another step
This time his hand found its way wrapped around my waist, and he pulled me closer to him, his scent filed my nostrils.
“You can’t pretend anymore and I will suggest you give up, you may lie all you want but your mark can’t hide, I know what you are? How you are and lying is not going to get you out of this? To be honest, I will be lying if I say I didn’t expect you to lie, like father like daughter.” He gritted through his teeth
My eyes snapped at his
I am nothing like that monster, I will never betray family, Natalie is everything like him, like father, like daughter. .
My legs quivered as I tried to pull away from his hold, yet I failed, he was a lot stronger than I could ever be, I tried to push him away yet it didn’t work, he didn’t even move an inch.
“All you have to do is accept and I will let go of you, accept you are Arabella Blair. Accept your father is Darius.” He yelled and my heart skipped a beat
I felt an ache in my chest, my chest radiating with pain
When a tear slipped out of my eyes and using his other hand he wipes my tears.
“Pathetic.” Nathan whispered. “Good girls don’t cry Arabella, girls who listen never have to she’d a tear. And crying is not going to be of any help.” He spoke.
Accept it.
If I don’t, he will not let me go, even if I continued to pretend, he already knows the truth and I am certain he has strong evidence, it’s not like father hid his kids, he always took us to festivals or carnivals, everyone in town knew us and I won’t be surprised if a visitor told other about what we looked like.
Nathan’s squeezed my waist and a whimper falls out of my lips.
“I accept.” I whispered so low, I could barely hear my voice over the sound of my thoughts. “I accept I am Arabella Blair, the daughter of Darius.” I breathed out.
“I always knew.”
