Marcus

Alpha Nathan… “You are back,” Marcus said the moment I walked into the office. I clenched my fist in anger before I settled into my leather chair, and everyone turned to look at me. I was pulled out of a meeting, and I had Maria keep an eye on her when it came to clothes and feeding. She was the only one I could trust, apart from Marcus, to be sure he didn’t kill Arabella. The rest didn’t trust her. I had Gabriel, Anthony, and Marcus. My three Betas. “How is she?” Gabriel asked. “Don’t you think you are getting too involved in all of this, let Maria take care of the situation, let some of the maids help her, you don’t need to get involved.” “You don’t tell me what I should do in my home or not, the decisions I make are solely mine and that’s the difference between me and me, I like to take care of things myself, that’s why I am the Alpha, and you, you prefer when others do things for you,” I spoke A wave of anger washed over me as I stared at him, any word Anthony wanted to say, he didn’t let out. “Where were we?” “Talking about how we will contact Darius,” Marcus spoke. “I still think it doesn’t add up, he has two daughters, Arabella and Bella, his prides that are meant to marry someone powerful and make him even more powerful, Arabella was born without a wolf.” “She is not meant to still be alive, no one can survive long enough without a wolf, we have seen kids born without a wolf and they died months later, something is wrong with this one Alpha,” Anthony spoke. I knew they were right, she can’t still be alive and if she is, something doesn’t add up. “Marcus mentioned she was found badly injured, she could have lost her life but she didn’t, she survived that brutal attack, she found her strength, which makes no sense for someone without a wolf to suffer such a brutal attack. Even if she was found by you guys, she should have been dead.” Gabriel spoke. I had three days to think about that, and yet I was not able to come up with anything. Maria has never seen anything like that or even heard of it, she didn’t have to say it but a part of her was scared of Arabella. “What if it’s all his plan? It’s been three days and there is nothing, no type of letter of warning from him, it’s like he is not even looking for her and why will he do that and how about Alpha Luca, he rejected her, I am certain Darius has everything to do with it, but why? What if he sent her here, he knew she would be found by us or rather he made sure we would find her and she is his little spy.” Marcus asked He has never been too comfortable with an outsider being a part of our pack. “There are all assumptions, and I had a feeling she is not a spy, I am never wrong about my feelings but something is not adding up and I have someone looking into thing, I would like to see how she will spy if she is trapped in that little room, and I am keeping an eye on her, I will not let her out of my sight and I am sure I can break his little princess,” I spoke There was something that stirred inside of me, something that didn’t feel right, she couldn’t be a spy, she could not be there because she knew we would find her; she wanted to die. If Darius banished his daughter, why would he do that? She was a mystery, one that everyone in the world will be interested in knowing about, a girl without a wolf that survived for this long. My eyes darted around the room, I could tell they were all in their thoughts just like I was. “Keep an eye on the perimeter and make sure no one goes out without being checked and if they do come back, they are checked and Marcus, make sure no one else knows about her, the less the better, the last thing I need is for Darius or Alpha Luca to find out before I figure this out, he may have rejected her but it doesn’t mean that he still doesn’t care, there is more to the story,” I spoke and they all nodded. I was able to speak when my phone vibrated and I stared at the message on the screen, my breath hitches as I read through it. A wolf has been found dead in our territory and it’s one of ours, it seems like the wolf has been dead since three in the morning, we are trying to figure out what killed it. There would be more details. “What’s wrong?” “Nothing that needs to worry you,” I said to Marcus We have never had anyone kill our wolves, except we are in times of war but we are not, she has been here three days. Awake just for a couple of hours and we already have someone dead, I quickly typed a message before my eyes found their place to Marcus. “That’s everything, we will have another meeting in three days to discuss what’s happening? You all know your roles and I will prefer it if you stick to them and no more poking your noses where-“ I was about to say when the sound of an alarm blared through the room I froze. Someone is in the house Did he send someone to get her? The sound echoed through the room, three of them pulled out their guns as I found my way through the hallway, there is no way in hell I am letting anyone take her.
