Chapter 41 Allegra counted thirty-four Splice into a bag. Lying on the bed, Spiker watched her, his eye taking in every detail of the simple movements she made and the soft tug of her clothing against the contours of her figure. He wanted to say words that expressed how he felt, to articulate the cauldron she had ignited in his mind and body.
