The Flamen curses the Rubicon borderRe-entering the lines of the Rubicon, the Flamen decided to make a new red line that would be sacred and impassable to Caesar. He drew a red line on the ground along a trench73 and began cursing as he walked along that line. From time-to-time he wet a sprig of oak bearing leaves in a cup filled with consecrated water and sprinkled the area he passed through with drops, cursing Caesar if he violated it. Most importantly, he added again that if the Gods did not strike Caesar down with lightening, anyone else could do it, swearing and breathing together, at any time and in any place.
