ACKNOWLEDGEMENTSAs always, I must begin by thanking my wife, Jackie, and my son, David, for their encouragement and for putting up with my incessant rants about the book I happened to be writing. I am also grateful to the rest of my family and my friends for their continuing support.
I have been so fortunate to have found a home at BQB Publishing. Terri and her staff have ushered me through the publishing process with compassion and a steady hand. In addition, I would be remiss if I didn’t single out my editor, Caleb, who is both my collaborator and my teacher.
Finally, I must thank Miles Darien, who jumped off the page in The Kingmaker’s Redemption to become the protagonist in Human Collateral and the foundational character for the series.
