Chapter 22The cab came to a screaming halt, the driver bolting from the vehicle and scurrying frantically down the street as Ull bounced onto the bonnet of the car. “Ah well.” Ull gave a put-upon sigh. “Guess I’m driving.” “Hurry.” Priel slid into the passenger seat. “Grandfather will need all of us.” Ull did not argue. “Try and rest, Prissy. You’ve been through enough already.” Ull then drove as fast as he was able to safely do, weaving in and out of traffic where necessary. There was no teasing banter, no playfulness, just a single-minded determination to get where they were needed.
