"Ah!" She claps her palms cutting him short.
"You must have come to get your fortune told...by this pretty sorcerer..." She smiled coyly, tucking her hair behind her ears.
The man let out an enchanting smile, tucking his hands in his pockets.
"But....you're too tall..." She pouted like a baby, The man chuckles, squatting before her. She looks down at him and smile.
"I was hoping to have a talk with you tonight...but you seems drunk" His deep voice says, with his eyes glued to hers.
She shook her head negatively.
"No, no, no...tell me everything...I promise to find a solution for you. Cause you're pretty...just like me" She pinched his cheek softly. The man couldn't stop smiling.
"This doesn't seem like the right time but...nevertheless I'll say it, since I might not have the guts to say this to you any time soon..." He said and she nods, widening her eyes which was threatening to close.
"Go on...the heavens are listening" She says back. The man chuckles lightly before continuing.
"I've been seeing you around a lot, though you may not have noticed. I've always watched you from afar, I couldn't muster the courage to face you up till now only because I was scared...you might not, like the likes of me. Actually, to cut the long story short, I like you. I like you a lot. I've liked you for a long time now....I would love to be closer to you, I would love to know more about you...I would love to....have drinks with you like this. I would really love, to have a special space in your life. I love you...miss" He professed, staring right deeply into her eyes.
Ruthie said nothing but just stare back, with her expression unreadable, which got the man a little bit anxious.
"Don't think I'm trying to take advantage of the situation that you're not sober. I just...I just think this would be the perfect time for me to say this. I know you might forget about all this tomorrow but it's okay, it's better than nothing, don't you think?" He gave her a small smile.
"I just wanted to come clean with my feelings, I think this would be the perfect time to do that..." He mumbles, lowering his head.
There was silence for a short moment before Ruthie finally break it off.
"Ahh...I swear my prettiness is gonna get me in trouble someday..." She says, getting him to look at her.
She gave him a really pretty innocent smile which melted his anxiety away instantly.
"Would you like to marry me?" She proposed out of the blue shocking him to the bone.
"Wh...what?" He raised a brow thinking he heard wrong.
Ruthie took the can of beer she hasn't opened and removed the pop top ring on it.
"To Mr tall who has been in love with me for some while now but was too scared to say it to my face...I asked if you would marry me?" She proposed again reaching the pop top ring to him as a proposing ring.
"I...you...are..."
"I may be drunk but I'm not a fool. I know exactly what I'm saying...truthfully speaking this could be one time golden opportunity for you, so make your decision now and don't even think of stalling. I don't have all time in my hands. Will you marry me or keep having those one sided love for me till you grow old and die, uh?" She raised a brow.
"You...are seriously asking me to marry you? But why? You don't even know who I am or if I'm saying the truth or not. I'm a total stranger and yo_" A sudden peck on the lips from Ruthie had to stop him from rambling, with his eyes growing extremely widening in its sockets.
She took his hand and wear the finger on his picky finger.
"This is all on me. You don't have to worry. What you just have to do is just loving me as you have been doing...I'll take care of the rest" She muttered to him.
"But..."
"Say one more word, and I'm gonna kiss you again" She cuts him off while he blinks shyly. Ruthie smiles finding his shyness cute.
"Take me home...sweet husband" She grins getting him off guard one more time.
"Home?" He mutters.
"Huh...our home"
* * *.
By the time, the man would have driven home, Ruthie was already asleep. The man who goes by the name Caleb smiles out with his eyes sparkling with intense happiness as he watches her sleeps soundly on his bed.
He just can't believe the lady he has been stalking for three whole months is on his bed, sleeping comfortable.
He has been devising a careful plan to approach and get close to her but if only he knew it'll be this easy to get to her, he would have done that a long time ago.
She would have been his, a very long time ago.
Ruthie turned on the bed mumbling some incoherent words while he smiles.
"Good night to you too, lucky charm" He mumbles placing a soft kiss on her forehead. Then he went towards the switch turning off the lights. He steps out also closing the door.
He walks towards to another room opening it but his brows furrow on finding it empty. Seems he was expecting to see someone there.
He walks further into the room then to the balcony, and there he find the person he's looking for, just at the balcony.
A big smile spread on his lips, as he watch the huge back figure of a man dressed in a bathrobe.
He seems to have just taken his bath, the night air blowing his hair softly, and he could tell he has a glass of wine in his hand as he stares out at the beautiful view of the night sky.
Caleb walked closer to him, slowly sliding his arms around his waist from behind.
"Here you are...Amor mio..." He says huskily, planting a soft kiss at the nape of the man's neck.
"I f*cking missed you a lot...play with me, Amor" He added, slipping his hands into the man's rope.
