Hannah's Escape Plan

1303 Words
Hannah was pleased with the conflicted look on his face. ‘‘I found out about the book, the one you killed my parents for.’’ She continued. ‘‘What did you say?’’ ‘‘You killed my parents for the black book, I know all about it.’’ She picked up the gun and aimed it at him, ‘‘This time it is loaded and I learn fast. Now let my brother go.’’ A small smile formed in the corner of his lips as she continued threatening him. ‘‘You can't do it, can you? He slowly advanced towards her. Hannah moved backwards subconsciously, fidgeting anxiously with the gun. Within swift seconds, he snatched the gun from her and threw it on the ground. ‘‘I don't care about the book or whatever you call it. All you need to do is do as I say.’’ Hannah nodded her head severally in response, ‘‘Fine.’’ ‘‘Let’s go,’’ he walked out on her. *** ‘‘Due to the untimely death of my parents, leaving Farrison Holdings without any leadership…’’ Hannah began, she stood at the stage addressing friends and families that had come for her parents’ burial. ‘‘I hereby transfer full management to my fiancè, Don Mario until my brother comes of age. Till then, he will be in total control.’’ Her lips quivered as she spoke. She looked up and blinked hard to prevent her tears from falling. ‘‘I'll let him give a few words.’’ With that, she walked briskly out of the hall, her hand over her mouth. She had just reached the stairs when she was tugged back from behind. It was Don. ‘‘As my fiancé, shouldn't you be on stage with me?’’ He held her closer, one of his hands on her waist and the other held her tightly by the wrist. ‘‘Why did you tell them I am your fiancé?’’ His jaw clenched and she could feel the anger rising in him. He won't hurt her in public, would he? She wondered. ‘‘I had to give them a reasonable explanation. You have the company now, what else do you want?’’ Hannah defended herself, trying to free herself from his arms but he gripped her tighter. ‘‘Not even close. I won't be satisfied until I have you.’’ He whispered into her ears and pressed her against the stair wall. His breath on her neck sent shivers down her skin and she shook. What the f**k does he want? Get away from me, she said inwardly. She desperately wanted to get away from him as far as possible. ‘‘Look, I have done what you want. There is no need for you to keep doing this.’’ She moved around uncomfortably, pushing him with her hands. Don furrowed his brows angrily, ‘‘You think you can play me for a fool and act like you know it all?’’ He removed her hands that were on him and raised them on the wall above her head. ‘‘I get to decide what I want to do with you.’’ Hannah whimpered in pain as he pressed himself against her. She was still enduring the pain when she heard the voices of people approaching them. She turned her head swiftly in the direction, having a mix of emotions. She was glad she would be free from Don and at the same time, she was scared they would walk in on them. ‘‘People are coming,’’ She reminded him when it didn't seem she would be released. Ahh… she cried out in a suppressed groan. What is wrong with you freak? The curse almost escaped her lips. He bit her on the neck and circled his tongue around it. ‘‘No one would come to save you even if you scream your lungs out.’’ From the corner of his eyes, he saw a man and woman draw nearer and he pulled Hannah into his embrace for a hug. ‘‘Get off me,’’ She mumbled. ‘‘It’s fine, dear. I know how your parents meant the world to you.’’ He said aloud for them to hear. The lady cleared her throat as she got to them. ‘‘I'm sorry about your loss, they were good people.’’ She gave a comforting smile. Hannah smiled faintly, whispering a thank you. ‘‘That's more like it.’’ He stated when they left, ‘‘All you had to do was be obedient. Let's go.’’ He released her and dragged her by the hand. _ Hannah watched as Franco swerved the car into the brown gate. As she stepped out of her car, she had anticipated a big house but what lay before her left her breathless, it was beyond what she imagined. She hesitated for a moment, taking in the sprawling grounds that surrounded the house. Her house was also large but it couldn't stand a chance against his house. ‘‘Where is my brother? You said he would be here’’ She questioned the moment she saw his silhouette out of the car. ‘‘Franco would take you to him.’’ He barely looked at her and walked away. Hannah followed Franco from behind as he led the way. ‘‘Sis, you are here.’’ Julio shrieked when the gate rolled out and Hannah appeared in sight. He was seated on a low bed, a bandage on the leg that had been shot earlier. Hannah’s heart was torn when she saw him in that state, he wasn't looking well-fed either. There were subtle lines around his eyes that hadn’t been there before, but the smile on his face remained the same. She rushed towards him for a hug. “Julio.” She said his name softly, as if testing it after so long. ‘‘I didn't think you'd come.’’ Tears welled in his eyes and they sobbed uncontrollably. There was a moment of silence, a gap filled with unspoken words as they basked in each other's arm neither if them wanting to separate. Hannah leaned forward, her voice soft. “I’m sorry for not reaching out sooner. It's all my fault.” Julio shook his head, ‘‘It’s not sis. We just got unlucky, that's all.’’ ‘‘Hmm.’’ She smiled and sneaked a peek at Franco who stood by the door. ‘‘Look, there are some things you should know but I have a plan.’’ Hannah whispered her plans to Julio keeping her eyes on Franco. ‘‘What!’’ Julio exclaimed, his eyes widened in disbelief at the plan. ‘‘No, Hannah. It's dangerous, I can't afford to lose you.’’ Julio pleaded, dragging her by the hand to stop her from standing. Hannah gave him a reassuring look, ‘‘Trust me, I got this.’’ She got to her feet and told Franco she was ready to leave. The gate opened again and Franco stepped aside for her to come out. Seizing the opportunity of him locking the gate, she picked up the metal she had sighted earlier and hit Franco hard on the head. A loud thud of his body falling on the ground sounded. Hannah smiled to herself satisfactorily. ‘‘Let's go,’’ She rushed back inside to assist Julio with walking. Julio grunted and protested, ‘‘I still don't think this is a good idea.’’ ‘‘We can't continue to be here, not when I just discovered he may be our brother.’’ Julio stopped in his tracks, ‘‘What did you say?’’ She looked around the hallway and repeated quietly, loud enough for just the both of them to hear. ‘‘There is all possibility he is our brother, Julio.’’
