Chapter 5

----Astrid----

I watched as Alex got up and headed into the bathroom to shower. I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous about going into town with him but I believed him when he said he would keep me safe. I was just scare of other people's reactions to seeing us together.

I climbed out of bed and headed to the closet to find something to wear. luckily I found a sports bra that would fit me then I pulled on a comfortable pair of jeans and a cute tank top. I looked at myself in the mirror and frowned a little at what I looked like. The outfit looked great on me but I didn't like how thin I looked. I had never full filled out into my curves and I had always wondered what I would look like at a fully healthy weight. Now I have a chance to.. I just hope Alex doesn't think I'm getting fat or something like that.. I thought before walking out to the bedroom and slipped on a pair of sneakers that I had grabbed from the closet.

I looked over at the bathroom door when I heard it open my mouth went dry as I looked at Alex standing there with a towel around his hips and nothing else.

"if you keep looking at me like that sweetheart, we won't make it out of this room.." he breathed, his eyes going darker. I couldn't help it. His body was perfect in every way, he clearly took care of himself and his body. Alex had a couple of nicely done tattoos on his body and a couple of scars that I instantly noticed were made my silver.

My brows pulled together some as I walked over to him, Alex was carefully watching me. I reached my hand up and placed it on the scar on his ribs. "someone attacked you with silver a silver knife.." I breathed and tilted my head to look up at him. I couldn't quite read his expression as he nodded.

"someone did, yes a couple of times but I'm okay, and so are you" he commented and ran his fingers through my hair.

"You saw them?" I asked softly and he nodded.

"when I saw you in the woods, I promise I covered you as quickly as I could. I knew you wouldn't want to be exposed like that" his tone was soft and careful

"Thank you for thinking of me like that, it means a lot to me, Alex" I offered him a soft smile and he seemed to relax.

he took my hand into his and lifted it to his lips. he softly kissed my knuckles before letting my hand go.

"I should go get dressed. you look wonderful by the way" he gave me a lovely smile before walking to the closet.

"hey Alex?" I called to him and he stopped at the closet door, his brow raised. "when I start gaining weight again.. you're not going to think I'm fat are you?" I asked softly. he seemed shocked by my question

"Absolutely not, Astrid. I would never think that about you. you can look how ever you want to, as long as you're happy and healthy" he answered and when he noticed me relax he stepped into the closet to get dressed.

I was sitting on the couch when Alex came back out. he was dressed in dark blue jeans and a black button up shirt, he looked amazing.

"Ready Love?" Alex asked and offered his hand out to me.

"Yeah, I'm ready" I answered him and stood up taking his hand. he lead me out of the room and through the pack house. there were actually people walking around and doing things this time. a few of them stopped to say hello or give us surprised or strange looks as we walked towards the front door. Alex was very polite to everyone who said hello, I did as well but I was still very nervous.

we made our way outside and continued walking down the sidewalk. the town was within walking distance of the pack house and was a decent size from what I could see. Alex explained they had neighborhoods that surrounded the town but we were mostly going to the shopping and restaurant areas for now but he said he would happily drive me around some time to show me the rest.

"Oh um, there was something I wanted to ask you" I commented as we walked together, hand in hand.

"what is it Astrid?" Alex asked, looking down at me

"the clothes you got me, they all fit me pretty well and I'm sure some will fit better when I'm up at a better weight but the um.. the bras are a little to small for me. do.. you think we could look at some while we're out? if not that's okay too" I answered him, chewing my lip again.

Alex smiled and pulled my lip free from my teeth. "of course we can, sweetheart. you can have anything you want" he answered me, "plus.. it'll be nice to see what kind of stuff you pick out.. knowing what to expect when I see you without your clothes on" he purred, making my face go hot and my stomach clench. he grinned and gave my hand a squeeze before continuing on.

being in town, people obviously recognized Alex but kept giving us strange looks when they saw us holding hands. he must have noticed me getting nervous so he gave my hand a reassuring squeeze which made me feel better.

we soon stopped a little boutique that had lingerie on maniquens in the front windows.i felt myself blushing again at the sight. oh boy.. this is going to be an experience I thought before going into the store with Alex.

----Alex----

Astrid looked intimidated as we walked into the boutique together, she even squeezed my hand a little. I smiled down at her before an older woman approached us with a big smile. "Hello Alpha! its a first seeing you in here, how can I help you? oh! hello there I'm so sorry what's you're name?" the woman asked Astrid. she seemed timid at first but then spoke up, "Astrid, Ma'am.."

"Oh please, call me Mary dear! ma'am makes me feel so old" the woman said with a laugh and Astrid nodded. "Is she your mate, Alpha Alex?" Mary asked me with a hopeful look on her face.

"she is indeed, and it seems I got the wrong size for some of her undergarments. could you help Astrid find things in her size?" I asked her and the woman's face lit up.

"Absolutely! I would love to help our future Luna!" The woman beamed and quickly hurried off, telling Astrid to follow her. Astrid looked up at me unsure so I smiled at her.

"It's alright sweetheart, I'll be right out here and if you need me just call for me okay?" I assured her before leaning down and kissing her gently. I could feel her slowly relaxing.

"okay.. I'll try not to take long but I feel like Mary is going to try and put everything she has on me" Astrid commented and even gave me a smile before walking away when Mary called for her again. I moved over to the couch in the store to wait while Astrid got fitted and tried things on. truthfully.. I was very excited to see what she picked out.

Mary is a very nice woman, she resized me and helped me try on different kinds of bras in different styles and fits. The only time Maty really left me alone was when I told her I was unsure of all the prices and she went to ask Alex about price range and he said there wasn't any. I wasn't fully comfortable with that but Mary insisted I get what I liked. I got plenty of bras and some panties as well since some of them matched the bras. she had tried to talk me into lingerie but I had insisted that we weren't at that stage yet, but I had a feeling Mary wasn't going to take no for an answer even though she stopped pressing me about it.

when we were all done and I was dressed again I walked out to where Alex was sitting and gave him a sheepish smile, I was still a little embarrassed. Alex moved to stand and walked over to me.

"did you find everything thing okay sweetheart?" he asked and I gave him a little nod.

"Yeah, Mary said she was going to get everything bagged up before brining it out so you don't peek. her words, not mine" I answered while feeling my cheeks get warm again. his grin didn't help my blushing.

"well.. I'm sure I'll see you in that stuff eventually, but it's certainly worth the wait to see you in what you picked" he cooed then eyed me over, a lustful look to his eyes that made my stomach clench and his eyes darken.

"Alpha, It's all packed up and ready to go for you and your luna" Mary commented from the counter. Alex walked over and I moved to follow before he shooed me away, I'm assuming so I couldn't see the price of how much I had gotten, which I knew was a lot.

Alex paid then grabbed my bags, when I reached to take them from him he lifted them away from my reach.

"I've got them don't worry about it" Alex chuckled as I pouted at him

"but-!"

"No but, you go, I carry" He laughed at me and lowered his hand, nudging me towards the door. I could hear Mary laugh softly as we exited the store, I felt my cheeks become warm again.

"are you feeling hungry?" Alex asked, looking down at me. I had actually forgotten all about needing food since I wasn't used to eating full meals or eating at regular times.

"Oh yeah, a little bit. I honestly hadn't thought about it. truthfully I'm going to have to get used to eating at normal times like everyone else" I admitted to him and couldn't quite read his expression.

"eating at normal times like everyone else, what do you mean by that?" Alex asked, he didn't sound angry but he certainly didn't seem happy.

"I just mean that, back where I lived, I wasn't allowed to eat with the rest of the pack house. I was usually to busy with chores to eat with them, and if I wasn't busy then I was simply shooed away. so I would eat when no one else was in the kitchen or I'd grab snacks and eat in my room" I explained to him and the mad expression that appeared on his face made me instantly nervous like I had said something wrong. when Alex noticed this he sighed and relaxed a little.

"sorry Astrid, I'm not upset with you.. I'm upset with the way your were treated. I'm sure you don't want to talk about it but.. when you're ready I'd really like it if you told me what happened and what you had to go through. but again, not until you're ready" Alex said and took my hand again, rubbing his thumb against it while we walked.

he wants to know about my life.. if I tell him I'm worried he'll push me away or go after Mountian pack.. I thought but nodded, "when I'm ready.. I'll tell you about my life before here. it's just.. a lot" I told him and it was his turn to nod. he then lead me up to a little diner.

"how about here?" Alex asked

"looks great to me, I've never been to a place like this before" I answered and he squeezed my hand before leading me inside

----Alex----

Once inside we were quickly greeted and seated at a booth away from others so we could talk without being bothered too much. with all of the places in town being werewolf owned, everyone knew who I was and it was almost impossible to do things without people coming up and talking to me. when the hostess saw I was with Astrid, she made sure to put us in a more private spot.

The waitress came over to the table and greeted us with a big smile before turning all her attention to me.

"Alpha Alex! oh lovely it is to see you! what can I get for you and... your friend?" the woman asked. she had thin fake blonde hair, her breasts pushed up and almost spilling out of her low cut top. her make up was done thickly, the woman was very unattractive to me.

"My mate" I corrected her, "and you can address her as well, show some respect for your future luna" my voice was stern and to the point. I didn't want to have to use my Alpha voice on her in front of everyone at the diner.

the woman's eyes went big as she looked between Astrid and I. "my apologies Alpha.." her tone dropped some before she finally took our drink order, making sure to address Astrid as well. when she left I looked to Astrid who seemed a little uncomfortable.

"Astrid? are you alright sweetheart?" I asked her gently while reaching out and taking her hand into mine and rubbing my thumb gently against the back of her hand

"Yeah, I'm okay.. I just got really jealous when she first came over. I guess I still feel that way" she answered me while looking down at her hand in mine.

"Astrid, you have nothing to be jealous over. you're my mate and I only have eyes for you, no other woman will ever have my attention the way you have it. I promise" I assured her just before a different server brought us our drinks and informed us they would be taking over for the other girl. I raised my brow but simply thanked the server for serving us. if it meant Astrid would be more comfortable, then I saw no reason to question it.

After the server took our orders I turned my attention back to Astrid who seemed off in her own world as she glanced around the diner. I admired her for a moment before speaking up.

"Astrid, you said you've never been to a place like this before and you mentioned your eating habits and things of neglect but.. did no one ever ask you or try to take you places?" I asked gently, hoping she wouldn't be too upset with my question
