Colvin was about to leave, but those words pulled him back into his seat. "Listen up, I'm throwing those words right back at you. Even if Tina doesn't choose me in the end, she won't choose you either."
His voice was low, each word a dagger to the heart. "You've always known that Tina's mother is gravely ill. How can a man who can't even provide financial security for the woman he loves claim to love her? If such a man still shamelessly pursues her, he's just being selfish, only thinking of himself."
Andy's face went ashen, the color draining away.
Colvin's words hit him like a ton of bricks; he hadn't seen it that way.
He always thought he was on par with Colvin, with both character and looks, and was worthy of pursuing Tina.
