"Taking you to see grandma." Simon glanced at Sherry and said to the little kid, "Do you know what grandma means?"
The little kid replied, "It's daddy's mommy."
"No, it means dad and mom are together. Only when we're together can you call my mom grandma." Simon was speaking to the little kid, but his gaze was on Sherry.
Sherry wanted to explain, but was afraid that Tommy would give it away, so she held back.
Both adults acted so well that the little kid didn't realize they were lying.
