I took the opportunity and wrenched the dagger from Hera’s grasp. Without thinking, I knocked the blunt end on her head and she fell to the floor unconscious.    With gold still dripping from my palm, I walked to the throne Hera sat on earlier. My eyes closed momentarily, and I rested my bloody palm on them. Gold dripped down my cheeks, like war paint. I took a step, then another, two more, and I draped myself on the throne. Thunder boomed again, and glacier crept up the windows.
