RYKER’s POV. I sat in the dimly lit room, my eyes fixed on the figure across from me. Viktor, the ruthless leader of the rival pack, sneered at me, his eyes fixed on me too. "So, Ryker, I hear you're looking to expand your territory," Viktor said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. I nodded, my jaw clenched. "I am. And I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen." Viktor leaned forward, his eyes shining with excitement. "I have a proposal for you, Ryker. One that could benefit both our packs." I raised an eyebrow, surprised by the nerve of this wolf, but I had to pretend to play along and see what this wolf got or thinks he got . "I'm listening." Viktor's smile grew wider. "I have a plan to take down our mutual enemy, the humans who have been invading on our lands. But I need your help to make it happen." I narrowed my eyes, not sure of Viktor's true intentions. "What do you want from me?" Viktor's eyes were filled with excitement. "I want your pack's support in this little plan of mine . Together, we can drive the humans out and claim the land as our own." I hesitated, weighing the pros and cons. It was a risky move, but the potential reward was too great to ignore. But it was about Viktor… this old wolf does not play by the rules…unless… "Alright, Viktor," I said finally. "I'm in. But I have one condition." Viktor's eyes narrowed. "What is it?" I leaned forward, my voice deadly serious. "You have to promise me one thing: you'll never mention this to anyone and the secret of that ancient ruins should remain a secret.” Viktor's smile grew wider, his eyes filled with amusement. "Ah, Ryker. You're so predictable. I promise you, my lips are sealed…only you, I and Axel know what happened on that day.” I nodded, sealing the deal with a nod. Viktor's eyes gleamed with excitement as he extended his hand, sealing the deal. I took it, my grip firm, as we shook hands. "Excellent," Viktor said, his voice filled with satisfaction. "I knew you'd see things my way, Ryker. Together, we'll be unstoppable." I nodded, my mind racing with the implications of our agreement. I knew that Viktor was a ruthless leader, willing to do whatever it took to achieve his goals. But I was willing to take that risk, if it meant protecting my pack and our territory. As we shook hands, I felt a sudden sense of unease. Something didn't feel right. Viktor's eyes seemed to shine with a knowing look, as if he had a secret that I didn't. "What's going on, Viktor?" I asked, my voice low and even. "What's really going on here?" Viktor's smile grew wider, his eyes shining with amusement. "Oh, Ryker," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "You're so smart, too smart for Ken good . You really don’t think this is just about taking down the humans?" I narrowed my eyes, my grip on his hand tightening. “You better start speaking!” Viktor's eyes darted to the wall behind me . “Gosh! You are scary, what I mean is that there's more at play here than you realize, Ryker. There are forces at work that you can't even imagine." I felt a shiver run down my spine, as Viktor's words sunk in me . What was he talking about? What forces was he referring to? But before I could ask any questions, Viktor pulled his hand free, his fingers trembling betraying the calm font he tried to put on. "Let's just say that our agreement is just the beginning, Ryker," he said, his voice dripping with hate . "The real game is only just starting. And you just joined the game, welcome Alpha.” And with that, he turned and walked away. I gritted my teeth, and my face contorted with rage. I watched as Viktor walked away . What did he mean by "forces at work"? And what kind of game was he talking about? I shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts. I had to focus on the task at hand, which was to take down the humans and protect my pack. I couldn't let Viktor's words distract me. This might be one of his pranks…but I can not make the mistake of ignoring him. I would have to keep an eye on him and this game he was talking about. I made my way back to my palace, my mind racing with strategies and plans. As I entered, I saw my beta, Axel, waiting for me. "Ryker, what happened?" Axel asked, his eyes filled with concern. "You look like you've seen a ghost." I took a deep breath, trying to calm my thoughts. “Viktor was the one who texted me…” “What happened?” Axel asked, his voice a low throaty growl. "Viktor and I have come to an agreement," I said, my voice even. "We're going to work together to take down the humans who love walking to lands their papas do not own.” Axel's eyes widened in surprise. "What? That's a risky move, Ryker. Are you sure you can trust him? I mean he is Viktor.” I shook my head, my eyes narrowing. "I don't trust him, Axel. But I have no choice. We need his help if we're going to get rid of the humans, after all only a pest can get rid of another pest.” Axel nodded, his face serious. "I understand. But we need to be careful. Viktor is not a wolf to be trusted.” I nodded, my mind racing with the implications of our agreement. I knew that Viktor was a ruthless leader, willing to do whatever it took to achieve his goals. But I was willing to take that risk, if it meant protecting my pack. And he was no more than a fly, if he tried to act smart I will drag him to the ancient ruins and snap his spine in two. As I sat down, Axel came over to me, his eyes filled with concern. "Ryker, what's going on? You seem...different." I sighed and shrugged my shoulders . "Viktor said something to me, Axel. Something that has me worried." Axel's ears perked up, his eyes filled with curiosity. "What did he say?" I hesitated, unsure of how to reveal Viktor's words. But Axel's calm look gave me the courage to continue. "He said that there are forces at work that I can't even imagine," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "And that our agreement is just the beginning of a game. A game that I just joined.” Axel's eyes widened in surprise, his face pale. "What does that mean?" I shook my head, my mind racing with possibilities. "I don't know, Axel. But I have a feeling that we're in something we should not be in.” Axel's eyes filled with determination. "We'll face whatever comes our way, Ryker. Together." “What’s this game we are talking about?”
