Kaida’s POV.
I was feeling restless and anxious, my body aching with a familiar sensation. I was in heat, and I knew that I needed to find a mate soon. But after my conversation with Silverine last night, and the eerie feeling of being watched, I knew it was a risky move. But my hormones were gaining control of me, I had to let go of this heat. Before I knew it, my legs were dragging me to the forest.
As I wandered through the forest, my senses on high alert, I caught a whiff of something sweet. It was a scent that I had never smelled before, but it was impossible to ignore. I followed the scent, my heart pounding in my chest, until I came upon a small clearing, a small cabin in the forest?
And that's when I saw him - Ryker, standing tall and proud, his eyes staring at the sky . I knew that I was supposed to hate this man and ruin him , but I couldn't help myself. I was drawn to him, my body responding to his scent in a way that I couldn't control. I felt like I was in a daze, where my body was being controlled by another force.
Just then, I stepped on a twig and it snapped. Ryker’s head turned and he faces me.
“Who is that?”
Ryker approached me, his movements slow and cautious , his eyes never leaving mine. I could feel the tension between us, a palpable tension.
I knew I was trapped, instead of speaking out too much… my body went closer to him. My fingertips grazing his neck, my eyes dark with lust. “Who I am..is of no importance. But what I want…”
As if on cue, Ryker’s body responded ti my touch. “Can I be of help?” He asked, his voice a low throaty groan.
Without another word, I placed his hand on my waist and pressed my lips on his. Making my intentions known with a kiss.
To my utter surprise, Ryker did as expected of a healthy male and did as he should.
I was caught up in the moment, my senses clouded by the pleasure and the pain. I knew that I was mating with my enemy , but I couldn't help myself.
As we mated, I was careful enough to avoid feeling a strong emotion, for the fear of my curse . And when it was over, Ryker marked me as his mate, his teeth sinking into my skin as he claimed me as his own, leaving his mark on my right shoulder.
I was shocked and confused, my mind reeling with the implications of what had just happened. I had never intended to mate with the man I wanted to ruin , let alone carry his mark .
“What are you whining about? You are cursed… once the sun rises the mark will disappear like it was never there.” My inner wolf scorned me.
As the sun began to rise, I knew I had to leave. I couldn't stay here with Ryker, not after what we had done. I was still trying to process the events of the night, and I knew I had to leave…before he wakes up and remembers all that we did. I can only imagine the look on his face when he sees that the mark is gone. He will know that I am no normal wolf.
I slowly got up from the ground, my body aching in places I never knew existed. I looked down at Ryker, who was still fast asleep, and felt a bit of guilt. I will be the one who will ruin him.
I shook my head, trying to clear the confusion in my head . I couldn't think about that now. I had to get out of there, before Ryker woke up and realized what had happened.
I quietly slipped away, not making a sound as I made my way back through the forest to the city. I didn't stop until I was back in my own house , where I collapsed on the bed, exhausted and sore.
As I lay there, I couldn't help but think about what I had done. I had mated with my enemy, someone I had planned to ruin . And worse, he must have marked my face.
As I lay there, I knew I had to make major changes to my plans. I would have to change my whole game plan. Maybe this is not so bad after all, I can use this as an opportunity to get close to him and then at the right time I will strike and ruin him.
I finally drifted off to sleep, my mind still reeling with the events of the night before. But as I slept, I knew that I would have to summon enough courage to go back to Ryker and make my first move.
When I woke up, I began my journey to Ryker’s palace . I had to ‘apologize’ for what I had done, and I had to make things right. I took a deep breath, and set off towards his palace , my heart pounding in my chest.
As I approached his palace , I could feel my heart racing. What would he say to me? Would he even want to see me again?
“Who are you?” A guard asked me, as I stood in front of his chambers.
“I am here to meet the Alp-“ my sentence was cut short by Ryker's presence.
“Let her in.” Ryker ordered, curtly and stepped into his private chambers.
“Yes your Highness.” The guard said and bowed his head in respect.
I took a deep breath, and stepped inside. Ryker’s eyes fixed on me as I entered. He looked at me with a mixture of confusion and anger, and I knew I had to stick to my plan or I will be dead meat.
"You ," he said, his voice low and even. "What are you doing here?"
I took a deep breath, and let it out slowly, seems like I am sticking to plan A, he recognized me . "I came to apologize," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "For what I did last night. I was wrong, and I'm sorry."
Ryker looked at me, his eyes narrowing. "You're sorry?" he repeated.
I nodded, feeling a wave of shame wash over me. "Yes, I'm sorry. I was wrong, and I shouldn't have done it."
Ryker sighed, and rubbed his temples. "Listen , I don't know what to say. I'm still trying to process what happened last night. Wait… why did you come back? You have got some nerve little girl.”
I nodded, feeling a bit of guilt. "I know. I'm sorry. I'll do anything to make it right."
Ryker looked at me, his eyes searching. "Anything?" he repeated.
I nodded, the look in his eyes told me things were going according to my plan. "Anything," I said. "I'll do anything to make it right."
Ryker nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "Okay," he said. "I'll hold you to that."
And with that, he stood up, and walked towards me. I felt fear wash over me, but I stood my ground. I knew I had to see this to the end.
“Now this is what I want…”
