[ In the modern time of day, Tang Xi is sightseeing on the mountains when she sees a red crystal with strange runes and inscriptions on it.]
Tang Xi: Oh, looks like an antique. Maybe Chang Li will like me better if I give him this. (Picks up the crystal). (Feels a scorching sensation running through her arms. Tries to throw it off, but it won't budge. Her arms begin to melt. She screams. Her vision darkens as she falls down the mountain.)
[ In the ancient time of the past, the Tianlong kingdom exists. It covers a large expanse of land which covers over a million miles. It is ruled over by Emperor Tang who is in the Grandmastering realm.] [ A noble realm cultivator climbs a podium and beats the '500 Gold Drum'. It was made from the blood of the first Sun Eagle that the first emperor killed. Anyone below the noble realm who beats the drum will die by bleeding from all orifices.] [ The echo of the drum goes out for miles and miles.]
Cultivator: The annual kingdom selection will be coming up in a month's time and all favourable sons of heaven will be expected. As usual, the winners will be admitted into the Tang Tian Divine city. It will also be an avenue for the Emperor to know who among his sons is the most promising and for all cultivators to pick their princes' party. I have been ordered to say this and no more. (Opens a box which projects golden writings of all he just said into the sky and then beats the drum again which echo his words for miles and miles).
[ At the market, two women are closing for the day, when they see the writing in the sky.]
Woman 1: Oh my! What's that? (Points at the sky).
Woman 2: (Looks at the sky) Oh, that's the a work of calligraphy. Masters of calligraphy did it.
Wo 1: Wow! You really know quite a lot.
Wo 2: My son has been practising for the past few weeks so I learnt a few things. He's in the early Jade Blood level, you know?
Wo 1: That's nice. Mine's in the late stage Intermediary level.
Wo 2: Our sons are progressing.
Wo 1: Yes. You know, sometimes I wonder what it would be like to have a ruling Empress.
Wo 2: Don't say that! Don't you know women should never cultivate? Men are just to use us as stepping stones.
Wo 1: I don't believe that! I'd have cultivated if not for my problematic spine.
Wo 2: It's fine. Let's quit the argument. The selection is next month. Which Prince would you have your son support?
Wo 1: I think Tang Shambi. He's the crown Prince.
Wo 2: No, Tang Avien is better. He's the son of the Empress.
Wo 1: But Tang Shambi is the Crown Prince for now.
Wo 2: But he's the son of a consort.
Wo 1: What about Tang Shan?
Wo 2: Pfft (laughing) That weakling. He's a "princess" not a prince.
Wo 1: You shouldn't speak bad about royalty.
Wo 2: Huh?! Look who's talking.
Wo 1: (just shrugs)
[ In Prince Tang Avien's courtyard, he's practising. He looks well built and muscular and he gives off a domineering vibe. He is drenched in perspiration. He is in the Jade Blood level.]
[ His personal guard Hou Zikui, enters with a gourd of water.]
Hou Zikui: Greetings my lord. You should have some water. (offers him the gourd)
Tang Avien: What do you take me for? Think I'll get tired so soon?
Hou Zikui: Of course not. Young Highness is very strong, he inspires me.
Tang Avien: (rolls his eyes at all the bootlicking) Just give me the water. (collects it and drinks it) (suddenly remembers something) What about You Lin? Have you kept an eye on her? Anything suspicious?
Hou Zikui: No my lord, there's nothing.
Tang Avien: Okay, tell her I'll be coming to see her.
Hou Zikui: Yes my lord. (leaves)
Tang Avien: (smiles creepily) You Lin, this crown Prince's selection will be the chance for me to finally win your heart.
[Tang Xi wakes up in an empty space. She seems to be floating. A white figure, holding a sword is walking towards her, putting Tang Xi on guard.]
Feng Shui: I'm Feng Shui, the pure spirit and I come to give you two options; to reincarnate or to disperse to nothingness.
Tang Xi: (to herself) So I'm really dead. (to Feng Shui) You said reincarnate or disperse. I want to live.
Feng Shui: Okay, but be careful not to die. This is your last chance.
Tang Xi: Last chance? I thought everyone has three chances. I haven't died before.
Feng Shui: That was what you said the last time you died, but I assure you, you have died before. Twice. All prematurely. I hope you live longer this time around.
Tang Xi: (Bewildered) But....but....
Feng Shui: It's fine, you'll understand. (Taps the space with her sword) (A girl who looks fourteen is lying on the ground with a basket and scattered fruits near her. She looks badly injured)
Tang Xi: (Sympathetic) Oh my! Who is she? Such a pretty girl!
Feng Shui: She's the body which you must enter!
Tang Xi: (Shocked) What?!
