The possession of Kevin Hale

1112 Words
"Kevin Hale. Top boy. Destined to be a very great Knight…" Klaus said to Kevin and smiled, the angles of his mouth drawing out in a terrifying line. Kevin took a step back while he eyed Klaus from head down. He was shaking, but Kevin tried to hide it. "Who the hell are you?" Kevin asked him, and Klaus chuckled. He gently approached, but Kevin jerked back. Klaus laughed out loud at Kevin's reaction. "I am the one who will help you attain your full potential," Klaus suddenly said to Kevin as he appeared behind him. Kevin jumped back and grabbed a candlestick, aiming it at Klaus. Klaus waved his hand and the candlestick dropped off Kevin's hand. Kevin, petrified, gritted his teeth as he closed his eyes and tried to focus. With amusement, Klaus watched as flickers of fire appeared in Kevin's hands. Kevin opened his eyes with fury in them and wore a smirk on his face. "Come close to me again, and I'll burn you to ash!" Kevin yelled at Klaus as the flames raged in his hands. Klaus clapped and slowly nodded his head while looking at Kevin. "I am impressed. You may be terrible at academics, but you know what you're doing in skills. And that is precisely what will make you great," Klaus commented at Kevin's prowess, but Kevin shot a fireball at him. The fire hit Klaus and got absorbed into his body. Kevin gasped in shock and the other flame in his hand quenched immediately. Klaus smiled. "I used to be a fire mage as well. And I was a very gifted one. So, I know everything about fire magic. But I have come to pass my legacy on to you," Klaus said to Kevin, who arched his brow. "I don't understand…" Kevin muttered. Klaus let out an exhausting sigh as his ghostly form moved and flew the room. "My name is Klaus, and long story short, Alex is my grandson, but he has been a disgrace. He is fighting against family. And that is why I have to turn elsewhere. To you," he said to Kevin. "I will not have anything to do with you if you are related to Alex. He is a distasteful servant who does not know his place," Kevin said to Klaus and crossed his arms. "Distasteful? Yes. A servant? You might want to consider that. And I'm here tonight, Kevin, because the only way you can attain your full potential is to make sure Alex does not exist. You have to kill him," Klaus said to Kevin and held his gaze. Kevin furrowed his brows while he processed the information. It wasn't adding up. "I suspect Alex has a great destiny as well?" He asked. "The greatest," Klaus responded. "So, why do you want him dead?" Kevin asked him. "Because if Alex doesn't die, none of my plans can come to pass. The Dark Knight within him cannot be killed though. He'll just reincarnate later. But that will give me enough time to remold this world in my image. So, when Alex is born again, he will be under my command. Our command. Your servant," Klaus said to Kevin and smiled. Kevin, blinded by rage, was starting to like that idea. "But to do that, I have to fuse with you, Kevin. I need a host. And I've chosen you. You're strong enough. In exchange, all of my powers shall be yours, and you will never die. So, what do you say?" Klaus asked him and Kevin thought about it for a moment. He turned his gaze at Klaus, who was busy smiling, before he glided back to his thoughts. "Well, if it means securing my destiny, I'll do anything. I have to be a great knight and an even greater ambassador. I don't care how that happens. And if it means eradicating Alex, count me in!" Kevin replied to Klaus, who smiled. Klaus had known that Kevin's anger and jealousy were enough to sustain his evil. He flew toward Kevin and tapped him lightly on the shoulder. "You have made the right choice, Kevin. Welcome to glory… and… while I merge with you, you might feel a little sting…" he said to Kevin, who frowned. "A sting? What do you mean?" Kevin barely completed the sentence before Klaus turned to black smoke and entered into his nostrils. Kevin groaned and fell to his knees while Klaus' spirit twisted his essence from within, making it impossible for Kevin to cry out. Now, Kevin's eyes turned glassy and cold, and while he stood on his feet, he cracked his neck and let out a malignant smile. Black, distended veins filled his face, and half of his face had become skeletal. "How do you feel, my boy?" Klaus asked Kevin from within. Kevin exhaled and approached the mirror in the room. He looked at his reflection and slowly touched his face. A wave of regret came upon him then, but Klaus sensed it. "Check out your magic. See what you can do!" Klaus said to him and Kevin snapped his fingers. Suddenly, his hands burned and he chuckled with excitement. "That was so easy! I didn't even think about it," he said to Klaus. "There is more to come. Now, let's go kill Alex!" Klaus instructed, and Kevin nodded. He walked towards the door that opened on its own, and after Kevin stepped out of the room, the door shut behind him. Kevin's eyes, once bright and warm, now gleamed with an unsettling intensity, his pupils dilated as if consumed by an inner darkness. His stride, once casual and carefree, had transformed into a purposeful, menacing march. As he navigated the fiery hues of the Firewing's hallway, the flickering torches seemed to dance in sync with the malevolent energy coursing through his veins. Klaus' spirit, now firmly entrenched within him, guided Kevin's movements with an unnerving precision, driving him towards his unsuspecting target: Alex. The air around Kevin seemed to vibrate with an ominous presence, as if the very shadows themselves were conspiring to facilitate his sinister mission. Kevin finally got to Alex's room and slowly opened the door. Dark whispers filled his mind as he stepped into the room. But the room was empty. Alex wasn't there, and so was Bruno. Kevin frowned while he looked around. "Hello, Kevin. Looking for me?" Alex suddenly asked behind Kevin and Kevin turned around. Alex closed the door, and Bruno stood by his side, terrified of how Kevin was looking. "You were right Alex. Klaus really came for you!" Bruno exclaimed. While Alex held Kevin's gaze, Kevin let out a haunting smile.
