When an enormous sperm whale was washed up dead on their shore, the most appropriate way they did, was to roll it back to the ocean. Sometimes, they dug up the beach area and buried the remains. But the Hydra was killed in the temple hall, too far away from the ocean and the land was hard. It would be a gruesome procedure to settle the rotting dead body.
