Ruth's POV "Ruth, you're just in time! Dinner's almost ready," my mom's voice rang out the moment I stepped into the house. She was in the kitchen stirring something in her usual oversized pot. The familiar smell of soy sauce, garlic and sesame oil hit me and I smiled. "Lucky me," I replied, setting my bag on the counter. "I could eat a whole cow right now." "Mommy!" Ella's squeal of excitement made me turn in time to catch her tiny frame barreling into my legs. Ethan was right behind her, hugging my waist with the determination of a bear cub.
