"I'm so sorry, Alphea. I didn't want you to find out this way but....." Soren paused lifting his head to the skies and drawing deep breaths before facing me. "When we got to the portal and Maya's blood didn't open it, you would have found out. You would have figured it all out and I'd rather you found out now and have enough time to prepare yourself,"
"You must have gotten it all wrong. My mother never left me a spell," I argued bitterly.
"I saw it. But I couldn't....I couldn't hear the spells. Damarys said she made sure Maya knew her half of the spell and the keyword that opens the portal. Your mother must have done the same, she must have given you the keyword. You just can't remember it. Damarys didn't hear your mother's keyword and your mother didn't hear hers." Soren explained.
