Adelaide's Disappearance - Part 1

It didn't take long for me to gather my things and plan to catch the next flight out of town, I've actually decided to shop for the things I'll need when I arrive. I left Anna with instructions for work, she'll be the only one who'll be able to contact me while I'm gone.
Whatever Coop and I got into, it ruined me and it changed me. I got stuck between two p*****s that both claimed to love me, but both kept secrets from me. I'm as bad as they are, but I can't even look back on my achievements because of men. What do you do when you're young, in love and drowned in luxury? One flight ticket to visit Coop, and I was already engaged and pregnant. Did we move too fast? I mean, why did he cheat on me so much? Maybe he needs space, he's surrounded by girls and drugs and.. He just needs space.

It's the morning of my departure, I left the house while Coop was out on his morning jog. Things have been tense since the argument, I should have left on the same night of the fight. I actually should have just left him, but I chose not to.
Departure : 2h30min before take-off
I just arrived at the airport, it's not so busy. I'm caught up in my mind, I even forgot that I'm next in line to get my flight ticket.
"Ma'am, did you hear what I said?"
"Oh, I'm sorry. Could you please repeat what you said?"
"I asked for your boarding pass and identification"
"Here you go. Which flight is available?"
"In two hours time. Since you're booked into first class, you'll have access to the lounge and open bar while you wait"
"Oh, that sounds great. How much will it be?"
"€800, cash or card?"
"I'll be using my card"
After paying for the flight, I heard some soft chatter, and someone asking if that's really me. I put my glasses on and tried to cover myself up. Getting to the lounge seems like the longest trip ever, everyone keeps staring at me.
Marissa:
"Babe, where are you? We had a breakfast date, don't you remember?"
Oh s**t, I totally forgot about Marissa. How could I just leave her like that? Should I tell her where I am, so that she can come with me? There's still a lot of time left, she can make it.
"Babe, Anna refused to tell me where you are. What's going on?"
"Can you get to the airport, right now?"
"Are we going somewhere?"
"Yes, no need to pack, just bring your devices and handbag, we'll shop later"
"I'm cool with that, will I be able to get a ticket?"
"Don't worry about that, I'll sort that out right now. You'll find me in the lounge"
"First class huh? You're fancy"
"We were in a private jet last week, what are you talking about?"
"I'm just teasing babe, what's with the foul mood?"
"Look, I'll tell you when you get here. I'll ask my driver to pick you up in 30 minutes"
"Cool babe, see you soon"
Okay, I know I won't regret taking Marissa with me. I managed to get her a ticket, paid an extra fortune for her seat to be next to mine. The lounge is calm, just a lot of business people and luxury all around. The men here look really nice, but I'm not even dressed to impress like that. I'm wearing a bodycon short jumpsuit, an army jacket and the 2020 knee-high Prada boots. I know my ass is flashing everyone, but I look like a slob.
"Hi Miss Adelaide, it's so lovely to host you in our lounge"
"Oh, you know who I am?"
"Who doesn't? You're the most carefree celebrity, and always empowering women of all shapes and sizes. You're amazing"
"Thank you, I thought you'd talk about my fiancé"
"Besides that, people know you for what you're doing, never doubt that"
"You've just brightened up my day, thank you"
"So, can I get you something to eat or drink? When is your flight?"
"In about 2 hours, can you get me a Frappuccino and a kale salad please?"
"Sure, coming right up"
That's great, people know me for something good, I like that. I really thought people would know me for the lifestyle and the unruly behavior, I was wrong. My phone keeps buzzing, Coop and Jake won't get off my back. I'm leaving them worried on purpose, that should teach them a lesson. I guess I must have sent her a memo, here comes my best friend, wearing almost the same outfit, with nothing but her handbag and laptop. I'm really happy to see her, this should get my mind off things.
"I didn't know you'd get here so quickly, I ordered some food already"
"It's okay, we'll call the waitress over"
"You look great, how fast did Dave drive?"
"Well, since he has a crush on me, he followed my instructions"
"Oh s**t, did you tell him that you're meeting with me?"
"Was I not supposed to tell him?"
"He's going to tell Coop, and he'll trace us"
"Let's sit down, what's going on?"
"Uhm.."
Marissa's eyes bulge out and she gets on the floor next to me, looking alarmed as ever.
"Did something happen? Why are you trying to run away from Coop? Oh my God, did he hit you?"
"Rissa, relax. Coop didn't hit me. When he took me to Singapore for Valentine's Day, I found out that he's been cheating on me, again. Jake knew and kept it from me, because he knows that he wants me to leave Coop"
"You're leaving because of that? Come on babe, you can't find other ways to teach him a lesson?"
"Look, Marissa. Before you came into my life, so much has happened already. I've already gone through a miscarriage because of stress, he slept with Jake's girlfriend, and I found out that our fathers are involved in the drug business. It's been too much, I need to take a break"
"Well damn, I didn't know any of this. How much more are you hiding? You should learn to talk more babe, you'll pass out from all this drama"
"That's why I want to leave, and I thought I should take you with me"
"Thanks for considering me, it's like you knew that I need a vacation as well"
"It might be long though"
"Adelaide, I'm not a child and I have no one to report to. We can leave for the whole year if you wish"
"Haha, that's too long, but I get you"
"Why did you leave Anna?"
"I didn't think that she'd want to come, she just got engaged"
"Really? That's so sweet, we should do something for her when we get back"
"Maybe.."
The wait for the flight didn't last that long, Marissa's drama kept me laughing and kept eyes on us. Two business mates have kept a close eye on us, that makes me really uncomfortable but we'll be safe. We're on the flight now, I'm settling into my comfy cubicle while Marissa orders drinks and food for us because she can't sit her big ass down.
"So, did you see the hot hunks that were looking at us at the lounge?"
"I saw them, what about them?"
"One of them approached me while I was at the bar, seems like we're going to the same destination. They're going for business though"
"What did you tell them about us Rissa?"
"Oh nothing much, seems like they know us already"
"That photoshoot was a bad idea"
"Would you calm down? What did you think being famous would be like?"
"I guess it was too much back there, I got too used to being drooled over"
"It won't stop now then, deal with it love"
"Fine Rissa, I'll deal with it"
I want to hold back, but Marissa is right. I didn't choose fame, it chose me. The music is playing, and I will dance to it for as long as it takes. This trip is a chance for me to start again and rejuvenate my mind, I don't want to go back to Coop with a lot on my chest.
