Chapter 6

Nisha's pov

Right after I got out of airport, cool breeze of Boston hit me. Aah finally!.15hours flight really exhausted me. Now I just want to go and sleep somewhere. It was not crowded. I don't like crowded places as I get nervous and lost. I got lost in the crowded places in India 4times. It was enough daring experience for me. After that Papa always made sure to have some guards with me wherever I go. Although I ditched them many times but they still managed to find me. It was really weird to have them around you like shadows.

As I was wondering my eyes here and there looking at my surroundings, I didn't realized that Mr Colton has came by my side as he went to attend some call.

"So Nisha, let's get you to your new home. I hope you will like it.'' he smiled towards me. His gentle smile reminded me of my Papa. Papa was always smiling whenever I was around him. I miss him so much.

"Nisha, are you alright?" He asked me bringing me back from my thoughts.

"Yeah. Um I am fine." I smiled at him weakly.

"Okay, Let's go."he said while taking steps towards a car where there was a driver standing. The car looked gorgeous. I think it was land rover discovery sport car as per it's model. I do have knowledge about cars as I have a liking towards them. I have 4 cars back in my home.

As we reached to the car, the driver greeted Mr Colton and smiled towards me. I smiled back. He took my luggage and opened the door for me. I mumbled a quiet thank you and slid inside the car.Mr Colton sat in the passenger seat. After 2minutes, the driver came back and started the car. Here we go to my new home.

Fifty minutes later, we entered the area surrounded by woods. Huge trees on both sides of the road. It was dark outside. The moon was set in the sky lighting the area and stars were shining bright. Cool breeze greeted me as I slide down the window glass. It was calming me down as I was getting nervous. I don't know why but I was feeling something strange in the pit of my stomach. Something was attracting me towards it but I don't know what is it.My heart was beating fast as we near the destination.

"Calm down nisha, there is nothing to be nervous about. I am sure you will like your new home."Mr Coltons voice broke me from my thoughts startling me. Huh? how does he know I am nervous.

"How do you know?"I asked him.

"Know what?"he asked me confused.

"That I am nervous?"

"Ohh, I heard your fast heartbeats and smelled your nervousness.." he told me making me shock.

"What?"I exclaimed. As if realising that he told me something that he shouldn't have, his face was priceless.

"No! I mean I am joking. I just um assume that you must be nervous for going to the complete strange place. That's why."he explained to me.

"Ohh. Thanks Mr Colton."I said. It makes sense as we don't go to new places on daily basis to live with new people. It makes you nervous.

"And Nisha please don't be formal with me. You can call me Colton or uncle as you wish. We are family now."he smiled towards me. He is really nice.

"Okay uncle." I smiled back.

Then he continued to look outside. As I looked outside, I saw that we stopped in front of the huge gates surrounded by shirtless guards. Wait! don't they have anything to cover their upper body?. They nodded towards Colton uncle opening the huge gates. It was like we are going to some sort of palace or kingdom. And they gave me weird glances when they saw me. What? I didn't kill your cats.stop staring at me like that. Then we entered those gates only to be get amazed by the woods surrounding the whole place like outside. After 20 minutes, the car stopped in front of a big yet cozy looking two story house. Mr Colton slid down of the car so did I.

"Let's go"he told me and started taking large steps towards the porch. I quickly shut the car door and followed him. When we stood in front of the door, Mr Colton pressed the door bell. After less than 10seconds, a woman I think in her early forties opened the door and squealed loudly making me jump in my place. I unconsciously took two steps back.

And when our eyes meet, she suddenly pulls me in a bone crushing hug locking my arms with her. I got rigid. she broke the hug and gave me her megawatt smile.

"Oh my God. You are so beautiful dear." She said dreamily. Hearing her complement, I blushed profusely.

"Sav stop. You are scaring her. Let us first enter the house." Finally mr Colton speaks.

"Oh I'm sorry dear, I just got excited to meet you. My name is Savannah, Colton's mat.. i mean wife."she said while gesturing us inside the house.

"Nice to meet you mam." I politely greeted her.

"Oh dear, call me Savannah not mam. We are family now."she said giving me warm smile.I nodded my head and smiled.

We entered the living room. It was beautiful with a modern look. A large couch was placed in the middle of the room with a coffee table. On the left, there was a large LED TV hanging on the wall facing another couches and beanbags. There was a chandelier hanging on above our heads. It was beautiful with golden lights in it. There was also a staircase leading to the upstairs. On the right side there was a door which I think leads to kitchen or dining area. In short the place was nice.

"Nisha, you might be tired from the flight, let me show you your room so that you can freshen up and then we will have dinner." Savannah aunt told me. I nodded my head.

"Yeah, I will carry your luggage to your room." Mr Colton spoke as he lifted my luggage which was already placed in the living room by the driver.

Savannah lead me to upstairs. There were family photos hanging on the walls and some photos of wolves too. There was a painting of a huge grey wolf with golden eyes staring directly in our eyes. It was amazing but scary though. As we reached to the upstairs, there were four rooms on the left side and three rooms on the right. Savannah lead me to the room with was on the utmost left side. On the side wall,there was a photo of a brown wolf with blue eyes. The wolf looks smaller as compared to the one I saw near the stairs.But it was very beautiful. What’s with hanging photos of wolves in their house? But it is none of my business. I won't hang photos of wolves in my house because they look scary. I will hang photos of rabbits and dogs because they are so cute and I love them.

"So this is your room nisha. I hope you will like it and it has a big balcony from where you can see the stars in the sky. I heard you like stars very much."she said as soon as we entered the room.

I smiled at her. She is nice just like My best friend Aahan's mom.

"Now go and freshen up then we will have dinner. Noah and Samantha will be there at dinner." She said.

Who is Noah and Samantha? I looked at her confused.

"Oh! They are my children. Noah is 21years old and Samantha is 19. You will go to the same college as them."she told clearing my confusion.

"Ok Savannah. And thanks for everything."

"Don't mention it dear. Now you are also our family. Feel free to talk to me about anything that bothers you. You are like my second daughter."she said with warm eyes and a genuine smile. Her eyes held love and care. I never got love of a mother. But seeing her, I got to know how a mother loves their children. I smiled towards her and hugged her as my eyes started to well up from tears.

"Thanks Savannah" I again told her while breaking the hug. She caressed my head and smiled.

"Come downstairs when you are done and if you need any help for unpacking then definitely ask me. Alright?" She said.

"Yes I will."I replied with a small smile.

When she got out of my room, I looked towards my surrounding. The room was beautiful with crimson coloured walls and a queen size bed in the center of the room. The sheets were white and cream coloured. There was a nightstand placed near the bed and a study table at my left side. There were two doors at the left side which I think go to bathroom and closet. And there was a balcony on the right side in the room. Wow not bad. I quickly went to the bathroom to freshen up.

When I got downstairs in the dining area, the divine smell of food greeted me. I am really hungry. Colton uncle and Savannah aunt were sitting on their chairs at the dining table. There were several dishes placed in the middle of the table. When they saw me they smiled while gesturing towards the table. I quickly went to the empty seat beside Savannah aunt.

" Let's start the dinner. We don't know when Noah and Samantha will come. So it is better to not wait for them.I think they might be having dinner outside with their friends." Colton uncle said with a look of disappointment appearing on his face.

"I guess you are right. We should start and nisha can meet them in the morning. Right Nisha?" Savannah aunt asked me while serving the dishes.

"Yes I can meet them in the morning." I said with a smile.

Then we started to eat while making small talks here and there. They asked me about myself and my life in Goa. I answered their questions. I also asked them whether we are in Boston or outside the Boston because this place was quite far from the city. They answered that they like to have their own privacy and fresh air. They also told me this whole area is owed by the Carters and he was friends with them. They must be really rich for owning this wide area. They also told me not to go alone in the woods as there are wild animals live there. When we almost finished our dinner, I heard a loud screeching of cars and loud voices of people. Then the door suddenly opened revealing a boy and a girl entering the house. As the dining room has glass walls, we can see them. Then their eyes turned to us. But rather coming towards dining room they started making their way to upstairs.

" Come here kids.Now. Colton uncle's voice boomed in the room making their steps to halt. They both groaned and turned towards us making their way to the dining room.

The boy was really handsome with a height of maybe 6 or 6.1’ and blonde hairs with forest green eyes. When our eyes meet, he just scowled. Eh What did I do?

The girl was really beautiful with a height of Maybe 5.7' and ash blonde hairs with light green eyes. Her eyes were showing distaste towards me. I swear I didn't kill their cats.

"What Dad? We are really tired and we had dinner outside. Can we just go to our rooms?" The boy asked with a groan. He must be Noah.

"Don't show this attitude to me Noah. When was the last time you had dinner with us? And I want you two to meet Nisha as we are all going to live together." Colton uncle scolded Noah.

"Noah and Samantha, meet nisha. She is going to be in the same college as you guys. You have to take care of her." Savannah said with a smile.

" What is she? A kid? Can't she take care of herself? And why the hell she is here in the first place! This is our house not hers." The girl raised her voice looking pissed. She must be Samantha. Whatever!

"Lower your voice Samantha. She is going to live with us whether you like it or not. I already told you about that."Colton uncle said with anger clearly dripping from his voice.

"Oh please Dad, if her parents are dead, then why the hell she didn't go to any orphanage. Why she is here disturbing our lives?" Samantha screamed. Ok this one hurts. I can see my temper rising with her every word. I tried to calm down as I don't want to lash out on her. I didn't tell them to bring me here. I was much happy there.

"Samantha don't cross your boundaries. She is going to live with us and you have to treat her properly otherwise there will be consequences that you won't like. And this topic is not up for further discussion. Is that clear?" Colton uncle said in an angry tone. He was looking very angry and scary to me. Savannah aunt suddenly came towards Colton uncle and placed her hand on his chest to calm him down. He looked calm after some time.

"Ok dad whatever." She said and stormed out of the room but not before giving me a death glare. Noah went out after her totally ignoring me.

Wow that was a really nice welcome! I think I might not like living here.
