Chapter - 14

Sussan almost begged Nameless as every wasted minute was precious to them. After hearing that his friend, Peter, and his brother, Robert could be in danger, Nameless nodded his head and finally decided to help them. "I can try to connect to Robert as we both have the same mind frequency," Nameless said. He then closed his eyes and tried to connect with Robert through telepathy. Once he had the connection, he wiped the air in front of him with his hands and displayed a magical screen in front of them. Then he started showing them where Robert and Peter are, using his psychic abilities and his mind power.  When Sussan, David, and Brenda saw the boys along with a short strange man, everyone gasped in shock. Even though they couldn’t hear the conversation that was happening on the other end, they could still watch in horror that Peter and Robert were being held as prisoners by the Hygelnewl plant. Sussan, by then, understood that the short man must be the guardian of that miracle plant whom they could not meet when they had the encounter with the plant earlier. But this was the first time for her to see someone as short as him being the guardian of the miracle plant. In all the books, they were mentioned as giants or winged creatures with snakeheads. “What is going on? Why is there a giant plant trying to swallow our sons? Sussan, do something… we have to save them,” Brenda shouted and held her racing chest when she watched the screen with fright. Sussan was well aware that the guardian could not shrink so much and that something was not right about him. So, she looked at Nameless and did a sign asking him if he could communicate with Robert if possible. “Nameless, can you ask Robert to be careful around that short man and make him immobile using the tactic technique I taught him? I think if he could control that short man, the plant would automatically calm down and let go of them,” Sussan asked him. Once Nameless informed Robert about Sussan’s idea, he immediately acted and made the Tiny man paralyzed with a magic spell Sussan had shared with him. The plant then let go of them immediately and became less hostile towards Peter and Robert. When Brenda saw them freed from the tentacles of the miracle plant, she hurried said, “Nameless, tell them both to come back right away. We will think of some other way to find Elly. This is almost like a suicide mission. Do they even have the basic understanding of what sort of danger they might face the deeper they go into that country?” She was speechless at their braveness and wanted nothing but to protect them.  "They cannot roam alone in the mysterious desert. It's highly precarious to go on this journey without any proper preparations. Robert, you better come back if you don't want to face my wrath," Brenda shouted at the screen. Nameless did not want to convey what his mother just said to them but his mother’s angry glare made him send the message to his twin brother, Robert, and Peter.  “What did they say? What did they tell you? Are they coming back?” Brenda impatiently asked him before he could even finish communicating the message to them. After some time, Nameless's face color changed when he received a reply from Robert. He was unsure if he could tell them what Robert said to him, as his mother's angry face only made it worse for him. So he looked at Sussan for help; And after looking at the poor boy, she nodded her head and agreed to help him.  “Brenda, don’t scare him. Give him some space. He must be using his life energy to do this much communication. Let’s not force him anymore,” Sussan told her. “...Sigh… I am sorry,” Brenda sat on the floor while holding her head and averted her gaze from Nameless. She had really lost her cool and her brain almost stopped working properly after they had left their home in the middle of the night. She had even lost count of the days, they had been roaming in this desert. She missed the warmth of her home and she hated desert life. Nameless stopped shaking and then informed Robert’s message in a very low voice. “Robert said, ‘We are not coming back until we find Elly. Also, we got a purple flower from this plant which could be used to find Elly’s location. Right now we are only short of Renlow powder which the paralyzed Tiny man has in his possession. Once we get it then we will track Elly and bring her back. We are definitely not going to bargain with this short man any longer after what he did to us… We will..." He stopped speaking and looked at Brenda with fearful eyes. Without saying the last sentence 'We will steal it from him,' he concluded, "This is what Robert said,” He informed them. As Sussan understood what they were going to do, she told Nameless to communicate once again and ask them to come back at once. It was too risky for a young mage to practice such powerful magic.  It can go wrong at any time and they may get teleported to any location where Elly’s scent got scattered. But the stubborn kids would not listen to her and they stood their stand on finding Elly at any cost. “Robert said even Peter asked him to go back after his first attack but he had already made up his mind. He will either find Elly or lose his life,” Nameless informed them. “What attack? Is that why you fainted? Then doesn’t that mean you would also experience attacks when he gets one?” Brenda asked and shook her head in dismay. “Why is Robert so stubborn? Why can’t he listen to me even once?” Brenda muttered and hit the tent with her arm. The tent shook and David held it at once before it could crumble on top of them. He then fixed the tent with light magic and said, “Brenda, he takes after you. So, I think it’s better to leave the kids to their choice and find a solution to solve their current problem.” “Leave the kids to their choice? Are you kidding me? How could they escape from the militant's eyes and now they have a giant carnivorous plant next to them that could eat them alive at any minute,” Brenda shouted which in turn frightened Nameless once again. So, Sussan had to interfere and said, “I think David had a point. If they are not going to come back then it’s best to give them an opportunity and tell them to make sure that they won’t get caught by the militants.”  “How is that possible? Militants have eyes everywhere. Our raw magic could not stand against their technology. They are very well advanced while our’s is ancient weak magic. We cannot fight them, isn’t that why we are on the run now from them?” Brenda asked her. “...” Sussan couldn’t answer her questions but she didn’t feel like they had any other good options right now. “Brenda, if we keep arguing about this topic then there is no end to it. Yes, the militant’s technology could destroy our whole universe but what would they achieve by destroying it? Listen to me, do you really think they would even try to harm Robert after knowing who he is and who his father is?” David questioned Brenda. Brenda very well knew about it and that was what she’s most frightened about. She did not want Robert to meet his father then everything she had been trying hard would go down the drain. “How about this? Sussan, don’t you have a bird that could travel faster than the wind? What’s its name? Felicit? Felicia?” David asked Sussan with a hopeful voice. "Felician... But he is just a small bird that I could summon and he cannot carry our kids back across the border. It would be too much for him and he would break before he even lifts one kid," Sussan said in a distraught voice. "No, I don't want him to bring the kids back... Instead... I want him to deliver something to them," David said to her. “Do you want to send Felician across the border to deliver Renlow powder?” Brenda lifted her head and asked him with a dark face.
