CHAPTER TWO
It was seven o'clock and Kathy Eaton was pacing the sidewalk in front of the building where she lived. Linda was a bit late. It wasn't that Kathy was eager to go to the party tonight, but wanted to go there just to get over her fright and see what kind of men she would be dealing with. Maybe it would not be all that bad.
She had rushed so fast that not only didn't she eat supper, but she hadn't even had a chance to get a cup of coffee. Kathy was about to take the last cigarette from her almost empty pack of Virginia Slims, when a horn honked.
She turned her head. A car was turning into the street her building fronted on. The car was a big, solid looking red Cadillac with lots of shiny chrome. Linda brought it skillfully to a stop next to the curb, where Kathy stood.
