ALMOST FOREVER I have a passion for watching odd, forgotten, and just outright weird films. I’ll come clean at the outset – Almost Forever was inspired in part by one such film, The Aspyhx . If you can track down a copy, it’s well worth a watch. In it, a scientist finds a way of preventing death by capturing a person’s spirit at the moment it leaves the body. Now I’m not one for ghosts and spirits and souls and all that – I prefer quasi-scientific explanations in my stories, no matter how far-fetched. But ultimately, it’s never the scientific achievements that matter in tales like this, it’s what people do with them.
