Chapter 5Officer Training School was tough. Shenin found she didn’t have a lot of time to think about anything but what she was there to do. There was a great deal of mental and physical aspects of the training. During the indoctrination phase, the officer candidates were tested on the confidence course, showing how they worked within a team; it involved grueling physical tests as well as learning how to be the leader of a team. The second phase involved things Shenin was more acclimated to: there was multicultural training, so officers understood how to adapt to different cultures. This second phase also included situational training, as well as ground combat skills and weapons training.
