Gina shrugged. “I’m not smart like that.”
“I’m not sure that’s true, Airman Cannel, the question you asked in the briefing was good, it was with an eye to the future.”
“I just wanted to know what we were in for.” Gina grinned.
“That’s what leaders want to know,” Shenin said. “Look, I’m with you, I grew up without a father, my mom trying to raise me and my brother. I joined the Air Force because I was tired of men telling me what ‘us’ little girls couldn’t do. I became security force for the same reason,” she said, her look direct, “I became an officer, because I wanted some say over what happened in my unit.”
